Wind resist useless...

There's one monster out of the WHOPPING 30 in MHW where wind resist should have prooved useful and it literally does nothing..
It's practically useless and has no place in any build accept for Kushala. WTF Capcom?!
How many other MHs with Kashala benefit from wind resist negating Kush's wind shield (except for the black shield)? I can think of two myself.
This also looks like Rusted Kushala and the armor definiately does..

After completing the game I must say.. MHW lacks way too many monsters to justify certain skills. There used to be more monsters that will flap around using windpress to be annoying but definitely not in World.

Yeah in previous games they would purposely flap their wings once real hard just to screw with you but not in this one...

There are a lot of monsters with Wind based effects but yeah, Kushala Daora is the big cheese with it who adopted it as their primary niche. Especially the Wind Shield making the fight pretty depressingly annoying for melee users without Elderseal and / or Windproofing.

Wind Resistance also effects when Flying Wyverns take off or land too, sometimes even just swooping by. You hardly notice it, since it looks like a cross between an Earplugs roar and a Tremor, but it's there, you flinch from the wind and stagger a little in some cases - sometimes opening you up for an attack, but usually doing hardly anything.

The real useless thing is Water resistance. Poor element. I expect there to be a Beachy type zone and a Snow zone added though, that'll want Water and Ice resistances respectively.

And deal with it shades.

99/100 times if a monster is swooping at you, you're rolling outa the way. It's never bothered me and in no way does that piddly sh** effect warrant a wind resist build in this version of Monster Hunter. Best way to deal with it: perfect evade.

those little flying annoyances that spit balls at you in the elder's recess, if they hit you with the spitball you get defense down, and they always happen to be in an area where you're retreating to =p definitely not worth taking a gem for tbh.

my guess is they've given an abundance of skills and sets to allow for expansion content later on.

but i found the windproof skill useful against the flying monsters, so idk what the op is trying to say here.

Wind does seem to be less of a problem in this one than it was in older games.

9 months later... There's still 2 weeks worth of content. At least there's GenU on Switch, Frontier and MHO on PC, the latter having an english patch..

wind resist actually affect any kind of pushback when monster flies or charges past you, yes its not much of a use past 1 lvl for majority of monsters.

It lacks a lot. From the number of maps to the number of monsters.

I dunno if it works with this game but if you perfect or adept evade into the wind shield you have a moment to attack without stumbling (cause you dodged the stumble), but if you stay in it too long you'll stumble eventually.
But it's hard in this version cause it's not a solid looking shield like in the others.
