Has there been any fix to how bright the lighting is?
Title, basically. Game itself is great but holy hell the lighting can be disgustingly bright at times, and I play with brightness turned way down in the first place. Volumetric crap disabled too. Has anyone found any sort of fix, be it in game settings or ini tweeking or a mod or whatever, to get this brightness to chill the hell out? It was NOT this bad on console

To everybody saying it is contrast, it is not. The bloom in this game is the most overused and lowest quality ive ever seen. The reason the dark areas are so dark and the bright so bright is that the engine darkens darks when bloom is present. You can see this by passing from a tunnel or a cave intk an area lit by the sun.

It is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ effect.

Dont bother speaking if you dont know what the ♥♥♥♥ youre talking about.
I recreated one of his demo images, the shadows in his game was noticably darker but the bloom effect was still the same. The bloom is making his problem worse for certain but the root of it seems to be something else.

I found out how to fix this the "too bright" and " wash out color" problem by tweaking the setting and its's purely a luck for me , here how to fix this go to display setting in the game , go to advance setting , change the volume render quality to " OFF " and then go to vignetting area and choose " Normal ". this way the color is not washed out and the white color is not too bright . I just play the game for 30 minutes after buy it on steam sale so it's annoying as i cant fix the problem with Mod because the game wont start with it , so this way is a real miracle or god blessed for me, hope this also help u fix ur problem, enjoy the game.

It's called bloom, and there really needs to be an option to disable it.

It seems to go away in cutscenes, but comes back when it transitions back into gameplay. It's quite jarring.

You're talking about bloom right? When you colour your characters clothes to 0 saturation but 255 brightness and you become a walking light bulb, or when you're in Coral Highlands during the height of the day and the white ground becomes neon?

No fix in sight. I REALLY hope one comes along for Iceborne, I don't want to know how bad it's going to look running around an area made up of entirely white snow during the middle of the day.
