Well most people do use GS or IG or CB because they mostly do solos but in a 4 man hunt Hunting Horns, Bowguns and Bows makes them OP and do lot of damages with all those free space.
General purposes: Tyranis Glaive II - Nothing can go wrong with this. Offset the -% Affinity with weakness exploit and maximum might (nerg set alpha can grant this) helps a ton.
Elders: Catastrophe's light (Nerg Glaive) - Again, nothing can go wrong with this one.
Specific Crit Build: Vice - My personal favourite look wise. Shines if you can afford Crit Boost 3 with Teostra armor set. Build affinity up to 80%+ and you'll never lose white sharpness at all.
General misconception for IG is that "Oh, you have to stay airborne to do damage". The typical Y-Y-B combo loops nets you more damage than the airborne one can do, especially when you finish with Y-Y-B-B where the last hit of B will hit 100+ with crit. However, airborne attack definitely has its use in positioning to continue dishing damage, land in the weak spot, and continue your ground combo.
I use the airborne combo when the monsters are a bit agile and flying but I mostly do the ground combo with the kinsect buffs cause its more dps wise, and I use airborne when I want to break parts like the wings and some horns in nergigante which when a try to ground combo it deflects.
So I got the Nergal spear and the Temptations trident already build like 5 days ago but not the Tyranis. Is that the Diablos tree? Crit boost 3? Like the Critical eye? then do I need also handicraft for the sharpness going white?
Kinsect will always be Pseudocath and no other. I don't think it's globally worth to give it an element as anyway it will rarely be an important source of damage.
I took the advice from someone here to have Earplugs lv5 and the quality of hunts changed dramatically, so if you can I highly encourage building a set that lets you get it (you can get it with 2 Bazel pieces + Earplugs dec or with Earplugs III charm + 1 Bazel piece).
The double tempered Bazel can be tricky because Bazel won't give you the orange extract you need for defense and dps boost. Luckily his entire body is a weak spot so you can just slash through him very easily. Go with fire res jewels + fireproof mantle if you have them and beware of not standing right below him when he's about to fly away since he will lay down explosive eggs behind him.
Yes, Tyrannis is Diablos tree, and Crit boost 3 I mentioned in Vice set is Critical Boost that can boost crit damage from 120% to 140% (different from Critical Eye).
Tyrannis Glaive benefits more from having Handicraft, though. You will have to make a set with Bazel Helm + Coil + either Kushala chest or Death Stench Leg to get both Earplug 5 and Handicraft 5.
Some would argue that it is too 'expensive' since you would waste a lot of deco and armor piece to get this, but if it suits your style, I would say go for it.
And you won't get huge DPS boost with Tyrannis glaive.
Yeah I guess 3 weapons should be enough for now. Im just earning HR for the next Assigned Quest for advancement
Noted ;)
Firedance Rathmaul for fire
Water Glaive III for water
Verdant Levin for Thunder
Freeze Gale II for Ice
Catastrophe's Light for Dragon
Pseudocath III for almost all situations unless I want a Kinsect for looks or want to use it other than that extra damage output from the dust it leaves.
Once I get some decos to unlock hidden elements, i'll start using Aerial Rod II for paralysis.
Verdant Levin? What tree is that? I just use Kadachi Pillar 3 for thunder as a pleb and newbie
2)tobi kadachi
3)rathalos
4)kushala daora
5)nergigante or vaal hazak
kinsect, honestly any with 15 speed
catastrophe's light and pseudocath III
the elemental ones aren't even worth it in comparison imho
Well its one of the best IG weapons. I just need other weapons to farm for the handicraft skill and some decos to fit with my CLight
