Dual Blades viable on end game?
I picked Dual Blades as my main weapon when I first started the game, because they were fast and agile (easy to dodge attacks). But as I kept using them I learned that they are pretty damn weak against flying monsters.

I managed to reach the High rank missions and the Elder's Crossing area, and now the Dual Blades feel rather weak because most of the monsters are mostly flying monsters (rahtians, diablos, bazzelgeuses, etc.) The only way I can even touch those buggers is to keep shooting them with Flash pods, but I can only take 13 of them for each mission.

The only aerial attack that the Dual Blades seem to have is the Cartwheel attack, but that move needs a deep slope or climbable wall, but most of the time they're nowhere to be found when you need them. And even then when I do manage to do the Cartwheel aerial attack those agile monsters will just knock me to the ground, stun lock me and finish me off.

So it begs the question, are the dual blades viable at and above 6 Star missions?

Additionally, Dual Blades require you to be really close proximity to the monsters ,but if you get hit even once you'll get knocked down and it takes forever to get back up again, giving the monsters more than enough time to finish me off.
Are there any equipment that would increase the knockback resistance so I wouldn't get knocked down with a single hit or is there an item that would reduce the time that it takes to get back up again?

Or are the 7-8 Star missions simply my limit on how far I can progress with the game?
It took me forever to even defeat the Nergigante for the first time in the "A Wound and a Thirst" assigned mission. Even with 3 other people in my group I just kept dying and failing the mission because of those knockbacks and stuns, and I didn't even participate in the fight and kept running away instead. :steamsad:

I main DB's, been using them all of the way through to HR89 and farming tempered elders (solo). They are viable, but like all weapons their suitability for you really comes down to your playstyle. You can always just try other weapons out, there is no penalty or cost for reskilling etc. If you find something you think you like then you can make a set of armor tailored for that weapon.

As for DB's, you could always go for a build with less offensive skills and go more survivable, +50 health and evasion window etc. Earplugs are also nice, at least until you get the endgame mantles.

Every weapon is viable.

This is a silly thread.

Preach it brother! It's only really your skill with that weapon that makes it viable/not viable. If you are good with DB, easy mode.

Every weapon in Monster Hunter is viable and it has been that way for years even in the older titles. You simply need to learn how to use them. I myself use Dual blades for tempered monsters and elder dragons which is end game and they work just fine.

Yes. Dual Blades destroy everything.

All weapons are viable end game unless you're attempting to do a speed run, in which certain weapons are better than others on specific monsters. But otherwise don't worry about what weapons are good or not, use what you enjoy.
