Killed at least 5 4 of those were investigations, 0 powder yet 2 gems. Bugged drop or just lottery winning levels of luck with 2 gems

It's like a 10% drop from any given reward on victory screen, but if you force him to drop a mat it shoots up to 50%. Take the Plunderblade, you can get 3-4 a hunt easily using that to force mat drops.

I'm up to 7 investigations now and still not got one... I cut the tail every time and other people break his face as well it's just getting annoying lol

I now have 3 gems and 0 powder ..

Really? I have 15 teostra powders o.o I did a bunch of teostra investigations solo to try to get the gem and I guess my Palico with plunderblade got me a bunch, got some from the investigations reward as well.

Need it to upgrade my longsword (can't remember the name offhand) to the next tier I already have all the other mats but this one something like 550 damage 330 blast damage and blue sharpness.

I'm just trying to get a few HR weapons with difference elements.
