tips against tempered kushala?
for some reason, I'm finding him harder than tempered kirin. at least with tempered kirin, his moves are highly telegraphed and you know when he will attack or not but with tempered kushala i can't seem to time when he is going to attack or not. he attacks very suddently and abruptly. any pointers or tells i should look for? i'm playing lance by the way.

For tempered Kushala:
1. Poison removes his buff.
2. Range has more value than melee
3. Windproof 5 does nothing. The only thing that resists that wind is to use rocksteady or Kushala's set bonus
4. Eat for elemenal defense or physical defense. Kushala can 1 shot even augmented armours.
5. Be sure to stack the main buffs. Seed powder and drug.
6. You are only allowed 4 flashes before Kushala is immune to them. Have fun with that.
7. Low mobility weapons such as lances and gunlances will have a hard time with Kushala unless you're with a party.
8. If you plan to solo give your palico sleep or paralysis inflicting weapons.

Bow user here, not melee. Some ideas should be transferable?

*Rears back and raises head = About to do a wind attack in a straight line directly in front.
*Taking off = Prelude to a tornado or a dive bomb. Both suck :mhwhelp: I use flashpods to put their arse back on the ground and interrupt the attack. I carry extra Flashbugs so I can have more pods :P
*I use a High Elderseal weapon, with my Palico also using a High Elderseal weapon. Elderseal heavily nerfs the most annoying part for me, which is the wind powers.
*I also carry Farcasters so I can resupply or evac to avoid carting.

7. Lance just block and counter when he dives. Gunlance and the other non aerial melee weapons, meh.

i dont think i would be able to kill him like that in 50mns if i played so passive lol.

Gunlance can shoot upwards and place wyvernstake upwards so it's not half bad.

I farmed a bow, farmed a armor set, learned how to play bow.
Killed like their whole species after that just so feel good.
Don't get me wrong, I still killed temp Kushala with a melee (IG) rather easily...

BUT GOD he is so annoying... LIKE DAMN, wind when you go anywhere, wind when you attack him... so annoying.

He isn't exactly hard... just incredibly annoying. Maybe worse with slower weapons tho.

i often get kill by his attack after he gets a stun on me. two mistakes to make you just over half hp and when he lands a stun on you, you are done for. this is at 180hp (food buff + 30hp with vit)

I've never tried melee weapon in this game...

I just shot him with my light bowgun for 10mins and he died. Just like Tempered Kirin.

This video is not mine, but my experience was very similar to this player's kill.

Bring Mega Bounce Bombs, when your team carelessly flashes him 4 times then you have another option to flinch or bring him down and they will love you.

3 piece Kushala set bonus will make the fight far easier. Kirin lance to exploit his weakness to lightning will speed up the fight as well.

When he rears up he will roar so counter block to avoid getting hit while still recovering.

When he does the combo where he does the swipe followed by small lunge forward, you can power guard if you're far enough away, or just hold block instead of countering to avoid getting hit by the second attack. If you're too close while trying to power guard he will trigger the counter before you get into the power guard and get hit.

It's probably worth just sheathing when he starts to fly up because it's hard to hit his weak spots while in the air and it's easy to avoid his attacks by rolling to the side so you don't lose health to chip damage.

Flash him in the air to make him fall. It's easiest to aim the flash at your feet to ensure it doesn't go behind him and miss. I hear people say to save the flashes for when he's at his nest on low health, but usually I can knock him over as I wake him before he can attack and I'll finish him off before he can even fly again.

Ye that happens. Basically the only way to die in MH is to be wombo combod like that, assuming you know how to fight a monster.
Not much counterplay to that, besides not getting hit at all, OP rocksteady or specific skills for certain combos.

yeah this! ♥♥♥♥ that double attack lol. it always gets me because my stupid intinct is always "Oh, easy counter" then gets swiped by the 2nd attack lol. i just beat him now and holy smokes i got saved by the dam. i was sandwhiched by 2 of his tornado and couldnt do jack and i was low hp. luckily kushala hit the dam and it cracked and he gots swept hahahah giving me enough time to chug max potion + rocksteady mantle

i finally did it! holy! 38 minutes of pure agony. i just had to play more patient and not be too aggro. i was actually worried i wont have enough time to kill him because i played so damn passive. just block block block and counter + 2 pokes when i can then combo when he is down.
