just like any other way you farm tempered elders. its all rng what investigation u unlock anyway. most effcient way to get tracks is to burn a tempered kirin invest and spend the 50mns stalking him and just collecting his fur/footprints. he wont attack u as long as u leave him be.

You can't determine which track gets you which elder dragon - any elder dragon track can net you any elder dragon investigation.

The best method to get any tempered elder investigation is to load up a val hazaak/kirin/nergigante investigation (preferably one that you don't care much about completing) and just follow them around collecting blue tracks.

On each Map on a expedition, there a some Tempered Elder Dragon Footprint's (Vaals resting place, above Diablos's Lair in Wildspire, Rathling Nest in Ancient Forest etc) just sniff them with enough luck you get one (random) T3 investigation
