Need bow build near endgame advice
Hi everyone. I think I'm almost done with the story. I fought Teostra and Kushala so far and if I"m not mistaken, I just need to fight Val Hazaal and the final boss. But before I do that, I was thinking of updating my current bow gear. Plus I don't have that many good decorations yet so I'm dependent on skills straight from the armor themselves.
My current gear atm is:
Flying Kadachi Bow / Legaian snowfletcher Bow
Kadachi head (Constitution +2)
Rathalos body B (Weakness Exploit)
Odogarion Hand B (Constiution +1)
Ratholos Greave B (Weakness Exploit +1)
Kadachi Waist (Thunder Attack +2 for Kadachi bow) / Odogarion Waist (for other bows + Critical Eye)
Fitness Charm II ( Constituion +2) Can upgrade to III now once I finalize the newer build).
As for decorations, the only most notable I have is the atk boost, steadfast jewel, gobller Jewel and thunder attack jewel for kadachi bow)

This set has served me very well and I am able to conveniently solo the elder dragons so far (I haven't done val hazaak yet tho) but I am in the mood to get a new set of gear to farm so I was wondering if there's a better build I can do that will make the upcoming boss fights run smoother.

Anything I can upgrade? Or any build suggestion I can follow?

I was thinking of doing a mix and match of the elder dragon gear with the dragonking eyepatch. But I'm not sure which skill I can sacrifice and which skill will be better for bow.

Is Stamina Surge +3 combined with Constition +3 better or almost the same as Constitution +5?

As of this moment, I'm noticing that I rarely use dragon piercer so I'm thinking that the nergigante body will be better than the kaiser body.

Any suggestions? I've searched forums and youtube videos for guides but they either don't exist or most of them are dependent on decorations that I barely have. Thank you in advance.

You need optimized build for every element, for some monsters you better to have specific build just for them.
Saber Aug 24, 2018 @ 1:04pm
You'll want BOTH Constitution and Stamina Surge. Always.
imo, Dragon Piercer is only used for big openings from heat to tail.
Spreadshot deals great consistent damage.
I use Nergigante body myself.

My personal experience constitution lv3 will do but require pay more attention on stamina, better to have lv4 and stamina surge lv2 if you don't plan spam dash juice every few mins.

This is a pretty good general set you can run until you get some good decos.

Helmet: Rathlos Beta
Chest: Rathlos Beta
Gloves: Teostra Beta
Waist: Nergigate Beta
Boots: Lavasloith Beta/Black Diablos Beta
Charm: Fitness

It gives:
4 Attack Up
3 Weakness Exploit
3 Fitness
1 Spread Up/Normal Up

Along with plenty of slots to gem in each element and things like Mighty Bow, Ballistics, and Normal/Spread up when you get the decorations. But as Arthur says you'll eventually want to look into swapping pieces out or making completely different sets for specific monsters.

Also, best water and thunder bow needs free element skill to unlock, you might not have the luxury to have constitution and stamina surge together, only constitution I afraid unless you willing to sacrifice other important skills.

Just stick with 3 constitution and get some elemental attack gems.

Rath soul B
Rath B
Teo arms B
Kushala/damascus (damascus has the slots to get lightning attack 3, kushala can get ice attack 4).
Lavasioth Greaves.
Constitution charm

Bow really needs them good rare 8 jewels though. Still, WE+3, CB+1, Spread up, crit element. Ideally you'd gem on mighty bow on the legs and then perhaps normal up on the gloves.
As long as you use a gem of miasma... or nulberries... it doenst really matter anything for Vaal tbh... XD as long as you stay at his left side and evade his swipes (right is a danger as his big breath attack will start there)

Thanks guys/gals. I would go for maxing both stamina surge and constitution, but as of right now, I don't have any constituion or stamina surge jewels so I'm stuck with just the fitness charm III and stamina surge from the nergigante set.

If there was a way right now where I can just keep farming decorations that I need, I'd be doing that non stop until I get the decorations that I want,

But from what I read, I won't be getting that for awhile and it includes tempered versions which I'm guessing I'll have to renew my build to be able to solo them properly (I think?).

As of right now, I'm looking for a build that's better or even slightly better than the one I have to make the upcoming monsters a bit easier (and hopefully tempered versions too).

My main bows atm are the kadachi and legianna bows (which is fine atm sinc emost monsters are weak to thunder and ice atm). I also have the nergigante (for val hazaak maybe?) and diablo bows but they're not at their maximum end upgrade since i haven't fought the monster that I need the mats from.
Tempered monsters just do more damage. They aren't signinficantly tankier. In fact I'm not sure they are any healthier at all.

Thanks! I'll check this build out! I either have the gear or have most of the mats on these already!

Thanks! I was watching solo bow vidoes on val hazaak and looks like he's almost the same as Teostra, which isn't bad. I was just worried about that health down effect that his attack has.

And it's great to know that the tempered versions doesn't sound that bad. I was thinking
Tempered Versions = Apex Versions (not that bad right? hehe)

That's pretty much what I've been running, and it's worked well enough so far. Just make sure you target weakpoints on monsters, and you'll dish out some pretty good damage.

Thanks! for some reason I missed this post. It's almost the same as the build that I was going to try (cept for the waist but I'll make both waists for sure).

When I'm finally able to farm the decorations that I want, I'll start making specific sets for specific monsters. I've always liked farming new sets for different builds.

Teostra is no where near as same as Vaal Hazak, Teostra has more similaritys with nergigante.

You should have at least one Miasma decoration, 8 nulberrys on you (There's two on the way to his place), pots, Vigorwasps actually helps on this one because your palico will come to you. He shouldnt do much damaga unless you're standing in his way or get hit by his two blasts, one of them is an uproar on the ground blast, move out of that range. Just keep at his sides (preferable left side, and not to close) and not to close.

Its something you cant regalairy do with Teostra, as Teostra will have multiple AOEs, Cone and circle.

I think my setup was a peace of nergi, Ingots, and dragon eye patch. I used fair wind charm (Protection decoration) as a melee, because I was always under his legs. But I assume the fair wind charm can save you for taking heavy damage if hes charging and leaving effluvium behind.

Also at earlier post, it is not always good to just go for beta, it usually alows for more costumisation but you can use the alpha's double skills in that place too. Wouldnt make to much of a difference

Go diablo pure dmg with earplug. High raw dmg and don't have to worry about swapping weapons and affinity.

For that, you're gonna need Weakness Exploit level 3.
