Great Hornfly

Sorry, I have a question: how can I get a Great Hornfly? I have a botanical laboratory at the highest level, I grow honey and insects and I use special jelly. But I've never found a Great Hornfly ....
I have also done many bounty hunting for insects but I have never found anything.
PS: I have finished the story and all the secondary missions.

What am I wrong?

Do you use fertilizers? doesn't matter which one.

But you don't seem to get them unless your are fertilizing.

It just takes luck and such. I got a bunch of Great Hornflies by just letting my garden do its thing for a couple quests.

I suppose what you can do is :
First, plant some stuff, anything you want. (I recommend items that only take one quest to be ready to harvest). Next, go ahead and just do your thing, hunt all ya want. After a certain amount of quests, you'll have the harvest ready. Oh, also, don't forget to pray to RNGesus for the stuff.

Try to harvest blue bugs but use the fertilizer for bugs/honey. Go to a mission over and over again and return if there is a horn fly. And also, this is a matter of luck. The rate drop is rare, so you have to replay missions until you find one.
I harvested 2 so far in like 2 hours for the Butterfly Armor...

They're random. I see about 1-3 in a fully upgraded box that takes something like 10 quests (maybe more) to fill up entirely, with or without fertliser and it doesn't matter what you are growing.

I don't know the exact % chance per each harvest, but presumably it's something like 5% or 10%. Don't worry about it, with time you'll be absolutely stacked in the useless things and you'll get annoyed when you keep finding more.

If you really want to brute force it, just go and do some Low Rank Great Jagras hunts or something.

I find it very hard to believe you've done the story and all the optional quests, presumably while farming at the same time, and you haven't found a single great hornfly. If that is the case, then it's clearly a bug. There's no way your luck would be that bad lol. They're pretty damn common - are you sure you're not overlooking them, mistaking them for Flashbugs or Godbugs or something like that?

Yes, I always use fertilizer and jelly. OK I probably have only bad luck, I keep trying
