Thunder. It's the best all round element, in terms of how few monsters resist it.

thunder is good on a lot of them. Ice is good on some of them.

That is my not scientific belief. I have both, and fire and water. BUt fire is not super useful as most enemies seem to be fire based. Water is good for Tobi and one or two other monsters.

Why not both? It's not like you can't change weapons for various fights.

One point against thunder, though, is that some people experience stuttering when they are used so you may annoy group members if they are affected.

Thunder is best but it might mess with some peoples performance or something.

Thunder, probably.

Ice is more usable against more monsters - making it a 'safer' bet, but Thunder has more useful monsters specifically weak to it.

Water's meh.

Fire is terrible - the MAJORITY of large monsters in the game are at least partially resistant to fire.

8 monsters weak to Thunder, 10 monsters weak to Water. This is bonus damage, not including Standard damage.

Also, be aware that Thunder element weapons may annoy others in Multiplayer because it can cause significant fps drops.

It's a good idea to have a few different elemental weapons, so both are useful in the long run.

so fire resistant armor is the most effective against most monster?

very few oh yeah only two.

You could always alternate weapons based on the monster you're facing. That's what I do, at least. I have a weapon for most elements now, and switch based on what monster i'm going after and what its weaknesses are. If i'm facing multiple monsters, i go for whatever is useful against both, even if it isn't bonus damage (better than bonus damage against one and reduced damage against the other)

but there's nothign wrong with switching weapons based on what you're going after xD

but if you want a good all-around weapon, you can consider this chart and look at resistances and bonus damages:

Poison looks pretty good according to that, mostly because only one Elder is immune to it, and only a handful are resistant. Lightning looks good too, with 3 immune and a handful of resistant

Absolutely.

Thunder cuz you'll probably annoy your teammates and that's priceless
DATAHOARDER Aug 23, 2018 @ 10:38am
Just farm weapons that your monster is weak too
