Any way to break out of stuns quicker?
I very often die because I am stun-locked for literally 6 or 7 seconds. By the time I am free to moev again the monster sometimes made 3 attacks on me already, bringing me from full health down to 0. Is there any way to break out of stuns with like an item or potion?

I understand the stuns are long in multiplayer, but in singleplayer there is no way for me to prevent death when stunned, the Rathian in this case just throws in 3 attacks real quick and I'm dead.

Jiggling the joystick back and forth quickly will help snap you out of it faster. Also, your palico will sometimes slap you out of it as well. You can't use items while you're stunned in the first place so... Yeah, no items or anything like that. The only way to really prevent it in the first place is to stack the Stun Resistance skill.

Edit: Oh, also if you're playing multi, then other players can flinch you out of it like your palico can.

Doesn't rotating or pressing the buttons help?
Use to in the other games.

If you shake your left stick you can get out of it quicker.

Rotating left analog stick helps with some stuff. Not sure if it was stun or paralysis, maybe it works for both.

i take my ps4 pad, put my left hand flat on the stick and move that thing left to right repeatedly so hard and fast, i wonder when i'll be breaking #1 pad out of 4.
keeps me alive though.
of course some nasty stuns can get you killed still.if diablos throws you a stun and does a tokyo drift turn to come back for you 2nd time, you're out of luck pretty much.

Quick question. can hbg shots flinch ally?
Zirkalaritz Aug 22, 2018 @ 8:16am
shacking the left analog stick breaks you out of stun faster, but still a 3 or 4 second stun. Sometimes your palico hits you out of stun if he's near enough and the planets are aligned.
Best advice I have is... don't get hit, stun builds up with consecutive hits. Either block them if you use a shield weapon, or git gud at dodging and evading.
If everything else fails, learn to superman dive (while sprinting away from monsters, press dodge) it has iframes for the entire duration of the dive.

Alright I guess i'll start spamming my left stick then, I've done it sometimes automatically but never knew if it actually worked or not. And I haven't looked in the skills at all yet, I'm trying to get the Nergigante armor set before I start looking into armor customizations.

Shake / wiggle / rotate the left analogue stick (or mash the WASD keys presumably) will help break you out of a stun, sleep and paralysis faster than usual.

Stun Resistance Level 1 makes you recover 30% faster.

Stun Resistance Level 2 makes you recover 60% faster.

Stun Resistance Level 3 eliminates stun completely.

On keyboard you don't need to spam WASD, just hold them all down at once and it counts as a "Joystick jiggle".

All in all this is probably the most solid advice, I often get distracted with my combos and sometimes I just take his low damage bite hits, maybe that's what gets me killed in the long run when the stun builds up. This Pink Rathian is a pain in the ass, but as you said I probably have to git gud.

I swear I can barely tell the difference with the jiggle if there is one at all I even made a macro to spam ad like 50 times per second still couldn't see the difference in stun time...

yes so aim carefully, also if you see an ally stunt you can shoot them to unstunt them very helpful if there is no one near the stunt ally

Stun charm lvl 2 and stun decoration and you are immune to stun.
