I want to make SnS medic style support build?
Thought on if this would be helpful? basically mount the monster a lot and provide buffs to my team and healing through mushrooms postions.

Mounting wouldn't be your job, but you can do excellent work with Wide-Area SnS. Remember to take 10 Honey + 10 Potions so you can make more Mega Potions should your team require it.

You can provide further support with Tool Specialist and both Affinity / Health Boosters, or running a Paralysis SnS and eating a Might Pill whenever you proc a paralyze so your team can HULK SMASH with impunity. You can also focus on landing shield smashes to the monster's head to go for stuns, though that's harder in multi.
I was wondering how recovery would work on that, and now I know cheers mate.

Presuming you'll be going for Speed Eating, Recovery up, and level 5 Wide-Range:

Go for it. It is viable, it is strong, and it can be very effective. But just remember: your primary job is to still deal damage. Nobody wants somebody who sits in the back and hands out buffs without contributing their weight in terms of hitting the thing. Look at the Hunting Horn. Now that's a support weapon. Sure, they give AoE buffs but their job is still the same as yours - to make some Big Numbers fly out of monster's heads.

If you want to chuck on Mushroomancer and Wide-Range and toss out a Mega Armor/Demon at the beginning of the fight, heal damage and blights, that's great! You'll prevent carts and with people being looked after by you, they'll have more time to DPS without needing to stop their damage to heal.

But you still need to do damage too. You still need to make up for that loss in your own DPS.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about dps too much, preventing carts and capitalizing other player's damage outputs is more beneficial for a sword and shield user in a 4 man arguably. It's not like you're going to be topping out the damage charts here. Sword and Shield is fine don't get me wrong, loved using it in 3u, but let's face it, if it comes down to you knocking around another melee user/getting tripped, or you healing/buffing when they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the monster up, I think we all know which is better :P

sadly the truth is HH is support weapon but mostly newcomer use it in the very wrong way sadly.....
it's not fully support weapon where you just sit on background spamming song you also need to contribute the impact and exhaust damage

Hunting horn's gimmick is support, it can still wail on the monster just as hard as any hammer can. The RT attacks on performances are insane.

Please dont be so quick to just outright shoot others down when you too are on the discussion asking for help and input from people.
cuz if he only spam SnS air attack then he didn't do enough contribution for the damage because the monster will be set up into 4 hunter only focusing support stuff will had your team having hard time took down the monster and also the monster will resistance mounting even harder on every succesfully mount max mount he will get will likely 3-4
Then say that instead of just going "no"? Constructive critism is always better then just stupid replies like that

I actually have a build similar to what your asking for but instead I'm using Insect Glaive with a Blast Bug for extra damage.

Main Weapon: Catastrophe's Light (Nergigante Weapon) (Steadfast Jewel)
Head: Bazalgeuse B (Sharp + Friendship Jewel)
Body: Nergigante B (Gobbler + Friendship Jewel)
Hands: Nergigante B (Gobbler Jewel)
Waist: Bazalgeuse A (Steadfast Jewel)
Feet: Nergigante A (Gobbler Jewel)
Charm: Friendship Charm III

This build allows me to keep my allies alive if one or more of them have taken damage. If someone is at critical health and is endanger of getting carted I'll pop a Mega Potion.

You can buff your allies with the Demondrug and Armorskin juices as well as Might Seed and Armor Seed. Optional in giving the group Dash Juice if your willing to farm for a an overstock of the item.

The main downside to this build is that every so often you'll have down time as you are keeping your eyes on buffs and your allies hp, as well as the heavy consumable consumption. You can still perform comparable damage and provide the mounts when needed and your Blast Bug boosts everyone's dps as long as you know how to manage the meter and refill your bugs stamina.

Yes, it certainly is helpful. I've saved enough Behemoth event's casualties to know by the fact that it can help you clear quests you wouldn't normally clear with your usual builds.
