I honestly don't remember it being so bad on console, but it's been really bad at providing timely heals on PC. The Conch is a personal favorite or the Shock trap/Flash bomb combo is really useful if you're not farming elders.

my personal favorite is flash one and coral horn

Vigorwasp is pretty strong. The delivery is a bit of a pisser but the ones they leave around can be nice.

Coral Orchestra is my favourite, even if loves to give me Tremor Resistance for Kirin, and Meowlotov.

I remember on PS4 the Vigorwasp skill would be used constantly by my Paleico, maybe they patched it?

Honestly though, you'll get a tool that gives you an AOE heal, just give your cat the horn. It's far better

Also real talk Shieldspire is low key really strong if you're using weapons that benefit greatly from the monster being distracted for a long time. It's way more practical than flashfly cage.

It's the opposite,(unless you mean it was patched on console?) PC hasn't seen a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update save for the weapon changes in the current console version ( which was added pre release ) so it's entirely possible the palico gadget usage was tweaked and we still haven't gotten it yet. I've seen palicos using vigorwasp deliveries on hunters (myself included) when they still have 3/5 of their HP remaining, or just standing there beside the hunter while they are at 1/5 of their HP and doing ♥♥♥♥ all about it.

I've personally had my palico tell me no to a vigorwasp station and delivery both when it was doing nothing but standing beside me when I had barely any health left and the monster was occupied. Honestly the lack of an update to the game has me wondering a lot of things when it comes to behaviors of both AI and drop rates. I've gotten plates upon plates upon plates, yet I've had to farm 30 + captures/kills for a common drop rate item with three different chances for them to drop + the carves.

PC also got the update to tempered monsters not being flash bomb spammable from the kulve tarroth patch so there could be other minor things thrown in people haven't bothered to look at and report of.

usually on other gadget such as my fav flash and coral
the palico behavior is more active to fully support me with their gadget
when im using plunder the cat is more focus to plundering stuff
when im using shildspire well it distract the monster even harder
but
when im using the vigorwasp im always seeing my cat standstill doing nothing after he plant the pot one and had late timing for the flying vigorwasp rescue clutch when im stunned and spamming signal he didn't knock me up ( he did respond to my signal but only standstill doing nothing) or when im stunned he just licking his fur......and thus resulted getting carted
they really tones down the Palico behavior for the 5th gen where on the older gen palico is active on their spesific speciality like support palico always knock you when you're stunned or sleep
im missed that

I had this issue with it leveling slow aswell. My only advice is to just spam the command on your hotbar anytime it comes off cooldown, godspeed my friend.

You mean things they didn't bother to mention to us? I mean they're already creating a track record for not communicating well with their pc fanbase it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it were the case. Regardless, we didn't get much of anything, I've been playing the console release off and on at a friend's house and the monster behaviors and palico activity is vastly different. Rathalos and Bazelgeuse in particular come to mind....

I've noticed the Palico not using Vigorvasp all that much when you have buffed up your HP a lot. Because in the start when I had that ability it would use it a decent amount of time.

I don't think the script being " ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up " is the issue. If it is because of the inflated health values then they wouldn't be ignoring the player when they're at less than 50 HP

I've never paid too much mind yo rathalos just because I find him extremely easy to control but Bazelgeuse on PC definitely seems to behave slightly different than i remember on console. Example being just spam flying away when you're on a hunt for him after fighting him in a zone for only 2 minutes roughly. I'm just glad I haven't noticed any of his shenanigans of placing bomb sacs under terrain like he did literally every other second on console.
