me better in mh but I cannot play souls, lol
I do believe there are skills to mitigate some of those effects you could look into.
There exist armor skills and decorations that completely negate most of these mechanics.
Earplugs gets rid of roar CC. Stun resist gets rid of stun. Tremors gets rid of blind man stumbling when a monster lands. (I think?) Flinch Free gets rid of friendly fire.
Of course you can't have ALL of these wonderful skills at the same time, so take the ones that you need most.
If you're skilled with dodging, take the evasion skill that gives you more i-frames. You can roll through and negate just about any CC effect if you time it right.
yeah but 5/5 earplugs, tremor resist, flich free, stun resist, that's a lot of skill slots to not be sitting there staring at myself and through most of the game you might have one of those skills maxed out but not more than one at best till you reach the end game. By then it doesn't make much difference anymore.
It's my first MH game and I'm probably terrible at predicting moves, or at least was at the time. LBG gives you back the ability to react.
Now having played on PS4 and moving back up through a new PC save it's interesting to see how big a difference knowing the monster movesets at the start makes. Between the LBG's mobility and knowing most of the monsters fairly well, it's almost like dancing.
A dragon slamming into the ground would make you stumble. That thing isn't a graceful doe. It's a mother fing dragon.
The monster roaring thing is...your guy gets a little intimidated by it.
You get bumped by a T Rex looking guy, what do you think is going to happen? You stand there and not get staggered? Be real here...would you?
You swing a heavy hammer around, you should be quick and nimble after doing so?
I don't like the weapon thing but I guess it is also reasonable, although I'd prefer to be able to super man dive while sheathing instead of waiting to sheath. That's what kills me the most. lol
I can't do DS games, I tried one of them and sucked badly at it but I can handle this game.
If the monster wants to roar at the start to make it all cinematic, or even once or twice during a fight, that's fine, but when it's just roar > cheap shot > roar > cheap shot > roar > cart, that's a load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that should never exist in any game ever.
yeah and I get that realistically it makes sense but it's also a game and no one enjoys a mechanic that leads to you getting hit and knowing that if only you could have control of your guy you could have completely avoided it.
