Exclusive Servers ???? WTF

So I bought the game steam during it's launch day. The game it self ran with out any issues for me though it's a shame it's online counter part isn't up to par.
I'd like to voice my concern though because this really is worrying.
I'm based in the Iberian Peninsula in Europe and it would seem that the servers are also exclusive to it.
This is really weird for me, never have I encountered servers where I couldn't connect with UK players despite other games allowing it.
This can't be a latency issue unless the servers are that busted. For now I can only play with Users from Portugal and Spain and I'm not a fan of it.
What good is the "Match making by language" if they all connect with the same people.
Like as anyone encountered this issue ?

Matchmaking by language is whatever the MHW user sets as their main language. You can have people from Asia setting their main language as English and get matchmaked with them.

Also, I would check Steam > Settings > In-Game > and at the bottom In-Game server browser: max sure the ping isn't locked to a setting that is really low.

this game is only using servers to matchmake, after that its all peer to peer. there are no limitations. i already played with someone from asia, and im from germany

But I did set my game in English. Steam is also in english. Do I have to switch steam's server as well ?

I always set Match making to any lanuage and I always seem to encounter the same servers -_-

i got that issue aswell, my buddys and i are a group of 4 people, everything works, except for one person. some days its working just fine for him, the next day we cant complete a single quest without him getting dc'd

As other have said, players can set rules for their sessions. Online play is simple peer to peer play piggybacked on main servers. Afaik, no room for any more exclusive servers than what people want.

Automatic matchmaking finds you the most compatible servers. If you want to connect to the other side of the planet then you need the session ID or connecting via invite/friends list.

Sigh so If I wanted to play with outside servers I need to actually know someone from there or they actually need to post the Id online.

That's how most games work though. It connects you to the people you have the best connection with. I really don't see the issue. If you really want to play with people across the planet, for some obscure reason...go find them on discord or something?

The issue is that there arent many players in the iberian penisula. I only saw one full room and a hole page of just one player rooms ./.
Id like to play with the rest of the european players but I guess they just made it harder for me.

Changing your download region within steam appears to have some effect on who you matchmake with.
