need tips breaking nergigante horns

Cause him to sleep and place megabombs at his head area. Explode them. You can cause him to sleep twice, followed by one more time when he's dying and he goes to sleep in his hideout... You could carry enough mat to craft 2 megabombs, so you can bring 2, craft 2 in the field and bring 2 large bombs for the finale...

Difficult to break manually unless you have end game gear that deal massive damage or you have good aim and only hit his horns...

Wear that ugly golden armor from the rolling boss in elders reccess. It stacks break damage.

+ More effective when paired with a hammer. (i use the football hammer).

Are you playing solo or with others? Parts are harder to break with other players so it's best to do this solo or to get the group on the same page. They are easier to break with range vs melee since you get more wiggle room to hit him in the head, otherwise just wait until he trips, is tired, or sleeps to attempt to break.

Make the first weapon you make from Nergi a hammer. Then do investigations solo so he has less health and beat his brains out. Abuse the hell out of the spinning jump attack in the first two places you fight him (both have nice slopes to slide on), both to smash him in the head and to get easy mounts on him.

Break one horn and you have a decent chance of one horn, break both and you have a near certainty of another. Silver and gold investigation rewards also have a good chance.

The drop rate isn't that bad in investigations. Well at least it easier to get horns as an investigation reward that breaking those unbreakable horns.

thanks guys.. manage to break the horns with hammer , but i not really a good hammer user cant kill it with hammer

Bombs are really nice way to break horns, also faceing him with a spear can be an easy way to breake them

I suggest taking your time to learn it as imo its the best weapon to use to farm Diablos, Nerg, Rath family, Oda, Kirin, Rado,Uragaan and various elder dragons(cause Hammers dmg output+KOs lets you break what you want when you want except the tail). A single good hit can lead to a complete sandbag. If your skilled enough with it even Bezel in multiplayer can be sandbagged by your nerg hammer. I can give you some pointers. I been playing hammer since the very first Monster hunters game. I'm sure I can help somehow o7
