Restart steam

It should tell you the dates of the files, if you are still unsure just back up your PC data, use the steam and see where that one is, if it's earlier use the PC one.

Maybe it's your Internet connection. Try to disconnect then connect again.

Just launched my own game, maybe there is an issue with the cloud servers, just select play and should be fine.

I went ahead and started the game, my save is still there but now whenever i start the game it says steam cloud could not sync files. Why is this game such a mess right now

I also have the same issue. I have tried restarting steam, internet and computer. No luck, have also verified the intergrity of files and it said no errors there. Hopefully this just a Steam cloud sync problem that is being worked on.

You can also disable the cloud (right-click on the game in the library view, Properties, Update tab).

I'd recommend using this batch file to make backups manually. Just put it on the desktop and run it every time you are done playing for the moment (the path to the save game needs to be edited before running the script for the first time): https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/973xjq/i_wrote_a_script_to_automatically_backup_monster/

Ok so going out on a limb here, did anyone else try to get the free gestures before they had this issue? I just restarted my modem and let it sit off for a min or two and now my game is working just fine. As soon as it loaded up i got my free gestures. May be a glitch with that dunno. But try restarting your modem and hopefully it works for you too!

I had an option pop up saying "you have 2 versions of the game" Either use the cloud version or the local version. Seeing as i'd played the game on multiple PC's it was obvious to me that i'd use the cloud version.... I've now completely lost all my saves and have to start... All.... Over... again.... You've been warned. P.S if anyone can help me i've got the save file from steam but I have no idea how to get it working with my game... Help plz
