What weapon do you use for Nergigante?

What weapon types did you use to kill Nergigante prior to getting rank8?

After like 20 hours I've killed Nerg only twice. It look like it'll take a week to farm its set (if I'll will be able to get the tail at all). I have no mats to experiment with 13 weapon types, could be great to hear your weapon recipes.

just use the weapon you like, if you can't beat him it just means you have not master your weapon of choice. i like flexibility, quickness, and being able to adaptable.

It depends on what type of weapon you use, but generally he's weak to lightning and dragon weapons so those should be of use.

Personally tho - Kadachi Fang II.

Im Using Dual Blades, It's easier to Dance around him and Avoid his attacks all together, Only forcing me to use 2 Mega Potions in the Process.

As of now i fight him with charge blade with lightning and dragon elem. to kill him with out dying once i will also craft every potion i can like armor pills deamon drink and so on plus i will have at least 4 things that can heal me including the cat. then i will use armor powder on the cat to make him stupid tanky so that if i need to run the cat can keep him busy

Sleep ammo, place 2 megabombs and explode it in his face, sleep ammo(he's slightly more resistant) crafted 2 megabombs and place them and explode them in his face. Poke or slash or pound him a short while and he's dying so off he goes to sleep himself. Place two more large bombs and explode them... Heh.

With the charge blade get under him and just unload on him for 200+ dmg a hit

Thanks! I use rank 7 electric weapon actually. Doesn't help much against massive damage the toon is getting despite health mantle, food, armor potions, etc.

For Nergigante I use lance. For any other monsters I use lance.

Seriously though, any weapon type should be fine. Just use what you are most comfortable with, although I probably wouldn't recommend hammer or hunting horn if you want tails.

On the consoles, when I first got to Nerg, I farmed him with the Insect Glaive and Charge Blade because those were my two main weapons.

Since then, I think I liked the Hammer since it can easily breaks his spikes and can KO him. There's plenty of spots to do the sliding spinning hammer move on him. A Crit-Draw Great Sword build works good, too, using hit-and-run tactics to target his head.

When Kulve Taroth ever gets added to the game, using the Taroth Assult "Glutton" HBG just destroys Nerg by using Spread shot ammo.

If you want the easiest time, use Lance with a few levels of Guard.

This time on the PC, I've been beating up the Nerg with two less used weapons: Sword & Shield and Hunting Horn. The Horn with the Attack Up XL song can make quick work of him, bashing his face, and breaking his spikes.

With the SnS you can keep flashing him if tries to dive bomb you. Just stick to him and do your infinite combos with the sword or keep spamming the jumping shield bash move. You're just so mobile he has a hard time hitting you.
