Critical Hits?

Are critical Hits similar to being Affinity when hitting it's weak spots? Or is it like a seperate thing?

I mean, you haven't worded your question well but I'll answer what I think you're asking.

Affinity is chance for a critical hit. You see a little orange arrow on the number when you do crit damage.
These critical hits trigger when hiting any spot, and aren't only applied on weak points.

Though you can get skills that increase your affinity on weak points specifically, most affinity skills and weapons apply to any hit made on the monster.

They're the same thing. Affinity = Critical chance, or chance of a critical hit happening.

I think. There's grey damage, for hitting a hard spot, and orange damage for hitting a weak spot. There's also stuff I never bothered understanding, like damage numbers with blue outlines, and diamonds under them, and all that taffery.

When you land a critical hit, which can happen on hard spots, you'll see a flash of pink light and hear a splashy/sizzling kind of sound.

Hitting a weak point deals higher base damage, while achieving a critical hit does the higher base damage (if hitting a weak spot) plus the crit multiplier. Certain gear combos allow you to achieve a higher crit chance when hitting monster weak points.

Some armor do provide "weakness expoilt" which massive increase affinity when hitting weak spot,

The critical hit chance is affinity. If affinity is 10%,thats the chance to do a critical hit. Critical hits do 25% more damage. If you have negative affinity, that's the chance to do 25% less damage.

Yeah the standard Affinity stuff is all about critical hits.

Weakness Exploit, Critical Eye, Critical Boost, Attack Boost at high levels, etc etc.

Sometimes when I use HBG and hit parts of the monster with white numbers, I can also notice a sizzling/clinging sound which is followed after by a white slash. Does this mean that those are crits?
