Weapons I've used on PC: Light Bowgun and Heavy Bowgun almost exclusively
This is the first time I've been able to play a MH game with mouse aiming, I'm not passing up the opportunity to demolish monsters with precision accuracy
Greatsword because the true charge slash gives me the same reason as above ^
It's love at first sight already, and not because I am an anime fan, but because of that sweet Foresight slash and Helm breaker.
So far I can't seem to warm up to the slow, methodical weapons. This is probably because of playing games with spammy combat for years and years (ARPGs, feral cat in WoW, etc). I definitely suck at MH at the moment, but I enjoy learning and improving a little every time I play.
I can recommend the LS if you want to practice with the usual MH weapons. It is a mix of both power and speed and you get the highest vertical reach, meaning good for tail cutting. It has a simple moveset to learn, but hard to master due to positioning.
