Monsters are starting to get cheap.

I noticed first with Lavasioth and now again with Black Diablos, several monsters now have long distance charging attacks where they can alter trajectory dramatically mid way and hit you even if you dodge several times. Does that not sort of defeat the entire concept of a big mob charge attack? How are you supposed to avoid getting one shotted at high levels when they have tracking on their devastating shots?

Not to mention fighintg BD in the arena he doesn't bonk to a halt when he rams the side like Barroth but rather just slides along continuing his charge in an arc, which means if you're anywhere within the range of his entire body's hitbox from the outside of the arena you get hit.

If by cheap you mean most high rank monsters can either one-shot you with their heavy attack, or stun you with their first hit and finish you with their second unavoidable follow-up attack, than I would totally agree with you.

same direction as the charge as in, if the monster is charging south, dive south

I don't fundamentally have a problem with one shot attacks. Only when they have crazy tracking and require weird unintuitive dodging mechanics that are never explained in game in order to survive. If Diablos's surfacing attack was a one shot I'd be fine with it because it's predictable and follows a logical pattern and can be dodged intuitively if you're half paying attention. Superman dive doesn't make sense logically and so probably shouldn't be required to survive a lot of fights. Or at least it should be explained.

To get I-Frames we have to face plant the floor ffs.
I mean you get some questionable I-frames in dark soul but that one guy that said this is dark souls without the best stuff but its got everything that dark souls has you don't want or worse.

Oh the charging attack. I mean in Black Diablos case you can see she doing that move a mile away.

Look at her not at your character, she have two charge, a straight one like normal Diablos, which usually came out fast. And the second one she will rev up, find your location then charge, so don't roll early. And when she charge she will swing her head around and drifting, so if you roll too early or not double roll you will dodge the charge but still got hit by the head swinging. If you don't think you can roll out fast enough then take the skill Evade Window (give your a more i-frame on roll) or evade extender (Roll farther)

I never have any problem with them, even when I fight both her and her husband at the same time lol (Arena quest: fight both of them in Special Arena, which buff both of them lol).

Now Lavasioth, that fish is a dumb gimmicky monster. I think I fought him twice, because he just too hard to kill lol.

But oh boy if you hate charging gimmick then wait till you meet Thunder pony, Toaster and his wife. lol All of them have charging move gimmick, Pony will charge, stop, charge again. Toaster and his wife will sometime charge circle to get to your side then bite you lol. Monster Hunter is fun man, just take your time, get in the quest, don't fight the monster, just watch how they move and you will find way to get out most of the situation. Also don't spam roll lol, this is not Dark Soul.

P/S: if you really don't like when they do those move, use your flash pod, it will stun them. Also, what is your weapon.

Edit: I think the only time I ever superman dive is Nergigante because his AOE spike. most of the time I just roll or flashpod.

Meanwhile I'm using my Legiana HBG with 2 shields attached and just block it's charges taking a baby chip off my hp bar that heals itself....

They say we need to learn how to play and git gud well they normally say it wrong and say git good or get gud.

CMDR, honestly, what i think? Git Gud. Your obviously a very poor hunter if you are complaining about programming or thinking its dumb. Its part of the game, get use to it or leave the game, we will not miss you. However you can learn and become a good hunter like many here are. I may be late to the thread but like everyone says, Superman Dive. I have had ZERO issues with diablos, black diablos or any monster that charges. If you get this butt hurt over this "Dumb concept", tempered kirin will make you cry. Start using the proper movements and learn tactics and you will advance! I believe many vet hunters here will agree with me.
