Quick question about pelts

I'm currently farming the Tobi-Kodachi for the armor and I need it's "pelt +" Do you need to carve him specifically to get pelt+'s or can it drop as reward for capturing him to? I've captured him the last 2 times and it didn't drop.

I don't have the loot chances shown in my book yet, but it does display that the pelt can be a reward from both carving and capturing.

Tobi-Kodachi drops its pelt + by breaking its back, carving, and rewards. You have a chance in those three areas every hunt. The ingame monster field guide lets you know every creature's weaknesses and drop chances/locations as you research them!

Make sure u are farming him on High rank

The + items (it'll mention it is "rare" X monster material in the description) have to be gained from High Rank versions of monsters (from High Rank quests, investigations or expeditions)

Tobi-Kadachi Pelt+ is a 4 star frequency loot item from quests and carves, you should see them pretty common. You can increase the chances by breaking his back, though, from both end of mission rewards/carves and the bonus rewards.

My advice? If you're ever farming for monster parts, do investigations. You get way more loot and bonus loot as well in the form of bronze/silver/gold rewards that either often have single amounts rare materials, or multiple copies of common materials in the little bonus box.

+ materials drop on high rank(HR 10+ or orange star missions).

If you don't do that, you won't get the dorp.

Yeah that was the problem -_- lol I wasn't paying attention when posting the quest and was doing the 3 star ones lol.
