Ls mains, ego bigger than zora.
Putting SnS and HH so low but their crap wep at the top, what a joke.
I'll trade the best ls main for a decent SnS or HH main any day.
This is not an accurate tier list at all, and people shouldn't take this one seriously, as the translated site where this tier list came from is more of a "popularity tier list" than an actual effective DPS one.
I'm a DB user and I can vouch that DB is nowwhere near up at Tier SSS.
If we are specifically talking about effectiveness of killing the monster as fast as possible, than the Bow is overall #1 within the entire game.
The fastest "Speed Run" times against the formidable monsters within the game like the Arch Tempered Monsters and Temp Jho, the Bow has come out practically on top for most, if not ALL occasions.
Things like Heavy Bow Gun w/ Clust capabilities is also insanely powerful, and I believe one of the speedruns against Behemoth (easily the most difficult monster in the game at least on console atm) was less than 5 mins with a squad of four.
So yes, if You Are all about Speed Running, All about DPS and destroying the Monster asap, than Bow, HBG and a select few others are the best.
However, as I've stated over and over, unless you're trying to Speedrun things, than NONE of this matters.
Every weapon is viable in that, it will ultimately get the job done. This isn't a Player vs Player, so finding out the most damaging capabilities is pretty irrelevant per say.
I'm not saying that it's not a bad thing to find out what's the strongest Meta within MHW, because truth told, their definitely IS a Meta within this game.
It is no different than when back in the Original Monster Hunter for the PS2, that the Headlocking of the BDS was #1 within the game. That was without question the Most Powerful Asset in destroying monsters.
MHW has it's own Meta, however that being said...
Please, Play What You Enjoy, because as I said, within a game such as MHW, killing the monster asap within the lowest time is irrelevant, "unless" you're into that kind of thing.
This shouldn't be a concern, and trust me, if you're running around with SNS or some other weapon that doesn't "blow" monsters out of the ballpark within 3 minutes...Nobody is going to bad mouth you.
Play what you like, this is a PvE game anyways.

Unless you're a speedrunner, you don't really need to fret over using the "best" weapons. Just pick the ones you like the most and use them.
LS hasn't been top-tier since it got smacked with the nerf bat in tri
related; you people aren't even old enough to remember the copper blangonga destructor and hellish slasher
really, skill plays a huge part in this calculation
if the HH is a total noob and the GS is ultra at landing combos, the GS is stronger.
Likewise, an OP GS user can get combo'd by a monster and spend half the fight stunned and still do crap for damage. it seriously depends on a lot of things.
if you're going for raw damage
if you're going for elemental damage
if you're going for best affinity build
you have to be way more specific than just 'strongest'
because im tempted to say 'bow' or HBG cluster cheese build for 'strongest' =x
PS My opinions on the weapon order might even change as I graduate to high rank and unlock gems and skills to open up some of the weapons.
That's because ls is dumbed-down to the max, thus the most played wep in consoles and pc.
