Switch Axe Skills
Thinking of making a switch axe. What skills should I be looking for besides the stock DPS skills (weakness exploit, crit stuff, attack boost)?

protective polish, the axe of demons has very little white even with handicraft 5, having polish is a huge dps bost, it also uses very little stamina so until you get better decals the one which increses your affinity(or was it attack) at max stam is very powerful.

elementless is one i cant believe i overlooked, though evade extended may not be super needed, depending on how well you are at timing your i-frames you might be able to keep your distance close without taking any damage by dodging in the same direction they charge you at.

Honestly evade extender lvl3 or more if you need.

This is a DPS skill for the SA since it let's you stick to the monster so much better with your side hope and occasional roll when they go charging across a screen.

Focus is really an absolute waste and so is the one that keeps you in amped state longer.

Since if you are really using the SA you will be switching between ax and sword the whole time so your gauge is always near full so no need for focus.

And it take 3-5 clean hits to get back to amped state as well. So you should be in it most of the time anyways and getting back to it is so quick.

------
Lastly be aware that elemental discharge is pretty much a trap. In most fights it's actually a loss of DPS. Both in how many attacks your making and how much phial you waste. And then have to rebuild.

Also you will get knocked off a bunch and many monster can and will follow up to kill you while you recover from the knock off.
