It's also convenient when you join or host a quest to give yourself a few free buffs before the other people join. For that reason alone it's worth getting it to the max level.
Health, flashes and traps can be crafted farmed and gathered yourself. Imo they are more unreliable than just doing it yourself. Plunder blade is also ok early on if you want to farm regular mats from specific monsters. But your palico is really bad at aiming those skills. Meowlotow is meh. Shieldspire was barely noticeable when I was leveling it up, So I can't say anything about it.
Coral Orchestra stays useful to the very end game. And your palico won't mess up using those skills as much as others.
This. But once you get the Meowlotov you can build your Palico to basically solo Elder Dragons for you in around 20 minutes or less depending on how much you decide to attack yourself or just watch the show.
