How to find Diablos?

Hello, Im trying to find Diablos in an expedition in Wildspire waste but I couldnt find him at the Quicksand patch. Is he not always on the map? And if so, how do I know if he is there and how do I switch the rotation of monsters in an area?

Because im pretty sure I saw Diablos show up before in the bottom right corner on the World map but now it just shows Barroth, Rathian and Jyuratodus.

Oh, also im still pretty early in the game I think, just before heading to the Rotten Vale.. dont know if that changes things.

I'm not sure about that but it's depending on your HR (Hunter Rank). He is not there at the beginning of the story. and if I remember right you will unlock him with a cinematic. If you do not have already seen it then... you don't have done enough things to meet him on his land ^^

Now your question:
If you got the requierements it CAN (check expedition details) be there, at the area 8 (probably underground, sometimes up there). Or you can go at the area 8 and launch some stones at the birdlikes creatures, they will scream and attract/angry him :)

Plus: When you go on an expedition you can see the 3 Large Monsters already present in the map when you arrive. (On the bottom right corner of the expedition's details).

Yeah, I see those 3 present monsters, but when I went there on an expedition Kula-Ya-Ku was also there even tho he wasnt showing up in the 3 monster rotation. Also, like I asked, how do I get the 3monster rotation to change?

Yes, I've beaten Diablos once already by baiting him out by either attacking the screaming birds or by slashing the ground at the Quicksand patch, dont know what did it, but he came out. Tried the same and he didn't. Now I wonder how I get him to show up again.

Well on an expedition has you've understand they're rotation. So you can force this by just killing one of the 3 already present there. After a while another one Large Monster will replace the deceased foe.

Mmmmmh another thing is... When you choose your expedition, do you have the choice of "Normal" or "Expert" mode? (At the top left of the expedition window). If no, then again you've to continu a little bit your story. If yes then... it's sound strange :/

I guess he's present only during an "Expert". Almost certain that you'll never face him during a "Normal" one.

Edit: Your last option if you've all the requirements then try to go speak with the "bounties" guys and take an investigation with him included (if you've one)?

No I dont have that choice. As I said, story wise im at the point just after Capturing Paolumu to get the Airship, and now I need to head to the Rotten Vale with the Airship. HR7 Atm.

As I understand, a Diablos is a Variation of Wyverns, so I guess I need to kill/capture the Wrathian to switch out to another Wyvern on that Rotation ? Im gonna try that.

Edit : Do I actually have to kill it to switch it out of the rotation or is caturing working too ?

If you do not have te choice when you go on an Expedition that mean you're still at "LR" (Low Rank). You'll unlock soon the "HR" (High Rank) and new armors/sets :D

So you just have to continu your game :)
It will be unlocked soon, don't know exactly after which quest but you're not so far ! :D

Edit: I've to go and will not be able to help you more, I hope someone will do it. Or at least tell you the level you need to be able to go on an "Expert" Expedition.

Oh, ive been at this story quest for quite a while, I wanted to do everything I can find before moving on - yesterday I set up everything (Including a water weapon) to farm Diablos today to get one more upgrade on my Kinsect and maybe try his Weapon. I saw him 2 times so far, once I captured him.. once he captured me ;) I guess im just gonna try kill a few Rathians to get him to show up again.
