Arena tips?
After playing most of the game with Dual Blades and the Hunting Horn, I wanted to try something new, so I consider the Longsowrd, look up a build and see the Divine Slasher is heavily reccomended.

I neglected the arena after doing it once in the start of the the game, coming back to it now just to grind it for coins is absolutely the most infuriating, tedious and boring part of the game, I don't run out of faints, but I do run out of general patience and my will to live after doing this for hours and not even having enough coins to make the first tier.

Is there any way I can make this all go over a bit smoother, or is this really it? because in that case I'll just forget about that thing and stick to my other weapons.

You can get it in one afternoon, 4-7 for the basic, 8-9 for divine if im not mistaken.

Jho LS is pretty decent too, dont give up LS because of arena BS.

Every arena fight is scaled to multiplayer difficulty insofar as health, enrage and exhaust threstholds, etc. It'll suck if you're doing it solo, period.

I have nobody willing to do this with me, why would they automatically scale it up to multi difficulty, that's utterly ridiculous.

Online Session > Filter Search > Quest Preference: Arena
You'll usually find several rooms of people who are searching for teammates for the arena quests. Most of them are doing it for the Divine Slasher too, so it won't be hard to find someone to play with.
I have As on all arena quests so I can also tell you some weapon choices that work well for every quest if you want.

P.S. I'm EU as well so I can help you doing that.

Thanks for the tip, and yeah that'd be pretty helpful, I try to judge what weapon will be the most useful to the best of my abillities but it doesn't always work out very well.

Tips is use only weapon provided that you;re confident with. It is a good practice mode with handicap. Most can get S rank even solo if they are such master at their giving proficent weapon set and have good luck + perfect run.
If there is no good weapon choice for you to pick then now is a good time to practice for a new one. Get cart a lot and learn from mistake.

play with some one- the arena is always scaled for 2 players

if you can, communicate on weapons. the loadouts in the arena have synergy. some have more DPS, others have more lock down items.

you will see combos like GS an HBG, GS will get close to no items, but HBG will get traps, sleep knives, para knives, flash bangs, etc.

with the right picks you have the monster down most of the time and it dies fast.

I've been trying several new weapons but with such inefficient gear it's taking me ages, usually if I want to try a new weapon I make a reccomended set and take it out for a few hunts, learned several weapons that way.

I'm pretty confident with using the hunting horn, but when I took it solo vs Azure Rathalos it took ages and it was still nowhere close to dying, I guess it's a way to learn, but not a very fun one.

I would say better pick a bow and fight him for more casual run (My choice). Some weapon set is not so efficient to fight with such mob as you may know already. Unless you want to master using the same weapon type and beat all monster in any situation which require lot of trial and error.

Thing is monster size in arena doesn't scale. So there is no bigger hitbox or smaller one. Melee user can train their combo easier there with no RNG of monster hitbox being a bother.
It's of course best to play what you know how to play, but arena builds can be poorly optimized and may not have good items with them (e.g. you have sleep knives, but no bombs and your teammate doesn't have them either).

This is btw what I personally played:
Quest 7 (Azure Rath) - I always played bow purely because this thing will be flying most of the time and it also comes with sleep coatings + bombs. My teammates played either DB or SnS. Don't go for anything that doesn't have flash pods or traps.
Quest 8 (Baan & Gaan) - all of my A runs were systematically bow + LS. The bow has a piercing build which is perfect to spam dragon piercers through those long bodies and the LS has a more than decent attack build.
Quest 9 (the Blos Bros) - I always played lance on my A runs because f*ck being ganked by both of them, and it's an ice lance with guard 5 so you're covered with both attack and defense. My teammates played whatever, although my two best runs by far are with a HBG and another lance.
I don't think you need to farm other quests for the sword but the other ones are far easier anyway.

If you're online you can join my session and I can help you with a couple ones: 3pseatkpybm

You can always search for an arena lobby and there is usually one or two with many players. It's not hard to find an arena partner

So that's why that Arena Tzi tzi was so disgusting to fight alone. Almost raged to the amount of trips and knock backs that little fcker gives.
