SnS block question
Is SnS block the same strength as CB block? Or is it weaker/stronger?

I thibk SnS has the weakest block with the most knock back.

It's rarely worth using.

the big difference between the CB block and the SnS block is CB block costs sharpness, and pending on phial and type of block can deal damage, while SnS is between a lance and CB where it doesnt cost sharpness but doesnt counter into anything as far as im aware, but for those moments you dont think a dodge is gonna cut it, you got the option to block.

with sns you can roll out of any of your attack animation, at any point of the combo, with evade and constitution you are basically untouchable. the block is a panic option, sure you can use it, but you will be knocked back from most attacks

SnS block is pretty situational, though it can be quite potent with Guard 5 skill equipped. I like to use it like that since I can choose between quick dodges or strong blocks at any time, along with all of the other perks of using SnS.

Looks to be the same except no block points, obviously.

Someone doesn't use guard up and guard.
You can boost the block to block anything, just like a lance.
I regularly block everything the golden pickle does with it because I don't want to deal with planet sized hitboxes.

The sns block is good for small attacks but dont try vrs big ones. Its much much much much much better than taking a hit if you cant dodge. It basically drops any small attack to lile 5% hp damage its very good

i prefer the other end and having guard up with em, if i dont think i can dodge through something i'll atleast be able to block it whatever it might be (save for ecliptic meteor.)

SnS block are VERY useful against Diablos and Vaal Hazak for example.

pretty much its not strong to be always blocking but it will totally save you on those "OH ♥♥♥♥♥" situations.

Well, yes. Everything that can block will have a great block if you stack all the proper skills for it.

It's good. If you can't dodge you can block mostly everything for chip damage. The main issue is that it's just a defensive option; you can't counter attack with it like with lance and CB.

SnS has a surprisingly strong block considering the tiny shield size. GS has a worse block IIRC, and a very big hit to sharpness for doing it. Basically only worth doing to block roars. If you're cornered using SnS, blocking is often a better response than trying to evade out.

You don't need to block, the back+B charge has so many iFrames you don't even need to try in order to not get hit. And it's also one of your strongest attacks. For everything else there's the superman dive, since you have the fastest sheath animation in the game. Forget the shield exists.
