Niche builds requires Slot upgrade for augments too.
In any case, never go for element damage on augment.
lets say, nergigante is weak to thunder,
do i use kadachi db for affinity
or
do i use kirin db for elemental dmg?
which does more damage?
affinity damage that show or elemental that doesnt show?
Questions like these confuse the hell out of me. Either one will be good, the damage difference is negligible. What matters is your ability to hit the squishy bits as often as you can, and not picking a weapon that the monster is resistant to. Either affinity or pure elemental damage is fine, doesn't matter which one.
That being said, unless you're using something like the rathalos set, affinity doesn't affect elemental damage.
One tip for you.
Dont focus on DPS
if you cant keep on that mind set you'll end up building bad habits on making builds.
To answer you question. In general getting the kirin db is better because you can easy replace your missing affinity with other skills, such weakness exploit and etc you can suplement what your missing easier with kirin db
**10% of 230 is like 23, way better than a +3 attack skill (230 is a random wep damage).
High raw + elemental is > very high raw - because of the elemental weakness but not as flexible. even with elementless - only really like 2-4 damage.
Always go raw over Elemental, raw does way more damage. Next is Crit around 65% is good enough. Then its crit damage - this doesnt affect elemental crit damage.
*This assumes have white sharpness (white sharpness adds damge to element also)
when your MIn - Maxing then think about adding Elemental damage after raw is max.
*Every +30 elemental attack only gives you like 1 or 2 dmage in the game.
9/10 times igonore elemental crit.
-Status weps - if you dont attack fast or a lot then i dont see the point in this. Unless you are doing some specific things.
*explosion on twinblades are better than on a GS.
