I'm pretty sure that I never got kicked when a host canceled the SOS.
I might be wrong though...
Also if it's near dead couldn't you finish it off alone?
Lastly cancelling sos does not kick anyone.
When the leader cancels the SOS flare, nothing happens. Canceling the SOS flare means no one can join anymore - it doesn't affect the people IN the quest at all.
So it sounds like you encountered some bug.
Also Mega Nutriens are bad'ish cause they only grant +20 health, go the extra mile and go for Max Potion for the +50.
And thanks for the tip about Max potion, Melody!
Given that it took you to the loot window, in both instances the quest was actually failed (probably due to faints). When the quest ends, the game pops the "quest leader has canceled the SOS" mesage.
The quest failed is only triggered by reaching the cart limit or like many players for not reading that it is a capture quest and slaying the monster.
They just.. somehow managed to fail.
Happened a lot of times someone already got killed/carted before I even left the camp and it was game over.
You have to look at a quest and see how many lives it gives. 1/1 or 2/2 or 3/3.
Those 1 life quest are tricky specially against tempered monsters who can 1 hit players easily.
I searched for specific storyline quest, with a task to hunt down the target, so no, no fails due to not capturing the beast.
I googled a bit more, and yeah, seems like when quest fails due to exceeding faint limit it fails like that (somehow explains itself that QL cancelled SOS). Which is kinda a bit absurd, but oh well.
