Focus on the non event monsters for the crowns, black diablos and elder dragons first via investigations. gold+silver or 3 purple box, 50 mins for higher chance of big and 15 mins for higher chance of small... I lucked out on Kirin with a tempered 5 reward boxes investigation 30 mins, completed both gold mini and large crowns in only 4 runs.

Grab all the gold crowns in the following events for rest.

Deep Green Blues ( Ancient forest) - Great Jagras / Pukei - Pukei / Tobi - Kadachi / Anjanath / Rathalos

Wildspire Bolero ( WildSpire Waste) - Barroth / Jyuratodus / Rathian / Diablos(annoying since he only spawn after you kill some of others first) / Kulu - Ya- Ku <== (current event but ending soon)

Coral Waltz (Coral Highlands) - Tzitzi - Ya - Ku / Paolumu / Legiana / Pink Rathian (next)

Effluvial Opera (Rotten Vale) - Great Girros / Radobaan / Odogaron / Bazelgeuse

Rock N' Roll Recess (Elders Recess) - Dodogama / Uragaan / Lavasioth / Azure Rathalos

Upcoming new monsters don't count, deviljho, kulve, etc into the achievements.

Yeah, I don't bother with crowns unless it's the special events for them. Even though this Wildspire Bolero one just doesn't want to give me a miniature Rathian despite already having gotten every other crown...

If I remember correctly, each of the musical themed events have chances of spawning crowns (giant and small)
