What is your favorite monster hunter game and why?

4U as well. Had they brought GU to 3DS I'd have an opinion of it (and I don't feel like emulating XX due to only the items, some infos and quest titles being English Patched but basically none of the dialogue) and that would maybe be my favorite due to the sheer number of monsters, though the weapon arts and all of those changes may put me off.

So yeah, 4U. Biggest and best roster and the game is still OG.

World would probably take it if they treat it like the western Frontiers and update the hell out of it with content. If they treat it like the OG titles and G-Rank it separately later, then MHW is the next Tri of the series (although I did like 3U) and I would regret having bought it.

Freedom Unite is what made me love the series though.

loved the maps, loved the monster pool, loved the selection of gear. it just seemed like the most polished and inclusive game out there.

every MH deserves all of the previous monsters and then some as the series continues.

MH4U for sure! I've been a Charge Blade main ever since. Absolutely love the weapon. I'm glad they reverted the awful changes they made in MHG (you could SAED from GP or Shield mode so charging your shield/axe mode was a pain) for MHW. MH3U will always have a special place in my heart though, as it was my first MH game. The Circle Pad Pro made 3U so much more enjoyable.

I'm really enjoying MHW so far, 110 hours in. I'm looking forward to the new monsters that the console versions already have and, someday, the G rank DLC (hopefully we don't have to buy the game a second time!)

1- 4u- the playability of 4u was insaine. G rank armor sets for days. SO many monsters you could hunt, all weapons pretty on an even playing field in terms of viability. Also easy access to hacked quests with a simple download spoof for insaine fights like 3 furious rajangs in an arena lol. good times,.. good times


Everything else falls behind it imo.

Yup 4U it is.

Awesome Roster, most polished game of the old style MH (and I honestly prefer the old ways), my favorite weapon controls (I really don't like some of the changes World has made), the maps were a mixed bag but aside from Ancestral Steppe and Sunken Hallow they were ok or better (and even those two I dislike purely aestheticly).

Love the esthetics, love the townfolk in the game ("DIVORCE ME HOME HUNTER! DIVORCE ME HOME!"), love the gathering hall in Val Habar, love the music (even though I think there are a couple of tracks below MH average), love Shagaru Magala and Seregios, love some of the subspecies a lot.

There's just so much done right in that game.

Clearly MHW!
This my 1st hunter game
It's different game aspect from all other games I've played, mostly MMO game lol.
The only thing that Capcom really fond with Final Fantasy Series, and crossing FF God monster to their game, I'm playing FF14 so I was not expect to see Behemoth, Kirin in MHW...Oh, well.

Monster Hunter World is actually my favorite. Out of all the other games, this is the only one where I can enjoy every weapon except the HH (because i have yet to learn it) but MHW pushed me to learn all the weapons I put off for so long and I love all the QoL changes. It's not perfect but it is so nice to have a Monster Hunter game on the PC.

Other than that, Monster Hunter Generations because I haven't played Ultimate. I love all the styles and different ways to play the weapons. 4U was pretty good too but i started with Gen then went backwards to 3U and I enjoyed Gen the most out of all the handheld MH games.
