What is that skill that you deem completely useless?
And I say “useless” in quotes because there might infact be a build/set that makes excellent use of said skill and it might be a playstyle I find/someone finds fun as hell.
For example, mushroommancer. I thought it was useless and then I stumbled on a healing build based on it, and I basically thought it was hilariously effective seeing a dude with a mushroom addiction keeping everyone alive.

So let me hear your thoughts.
Maybe we can change opinions.

Geologist, botanist, hunger resistance, entomologist. For honorable mention of most useless skills.

Third place goes to stealth

Second place to intimidator.

The first place obviously goes to sporepuff expert. Like, why does that even exist?

I agree on sporepuffs but intimidator and other skill you say is very useful on early till end game farming.

Not sure how useful/useless they are, but the ones I deem completely useless to me:

-BBQ master. I've honestly not used well done steaks or any BBQ stuff in my 250 hours of playtime.
-Botanist/Geologist/Honey Hunter. We have the tree for easy farming. And bones and such are easy to pick up while hunting. I already get more items than I use/need.
-Dungmaster. I've yet to see a monster not run away after one shot and within 5 seconds or so. Unless they were in a turf war.
-Sporepuff Expert. There's so many things you can put into your armor, and plenty of ways to heal. Why would anyone ever need this?
-Stealth. Have yet to encounter a situation where I wanted to hide. At all. Monsters tend to want to hide from me instead. :P

That one that makes bugs have a higher chance of being able to be carved.

Botanist, maybe, but Geologist? If you craft more than 10 weapons you'll need a ton of ores and bones, especially Firecell stones, Warped/Boulder/Ancient/Coral Bones and all that stuff. It's useless, till you run out. Then you wish you had a set that speeds up the gathering of those things. Stealth and Intimidator work alongside those skills to avoid being attacked while gathering. They are conveinance, not useless.

Entomologist allows you to use any weapon to carve insects. Again useful if you need those parts.

Useless is Bleed Resistance - Only 1 monster bleeds and you can buy a food item for 80?z or something that instantly cures it.

Useless is Hunger Resistance, considering you can just eat a steak or hop back to camp and eat again.

Sporepuff Expert though, why is that in the game.

BBQ Master is .. probably one of the more useless skills. The only time you ever see your stamina dropping are those multi monster quests or the tripple tempered elder things where, if you don't wear appropriate gear and rush them down you will see your stamina dropping. You could just go and eat but I guess you could just eat a steak too. It's not entirely useless such as Sporepuff Expert, but it's one of the least useful skills for sure.

You can't use 'the tree' for bones or ores and it all depends on how often you farm those things. Some people prefer to kill monsters in 2 minutes and then farm for an hour to have mats, others prefer to take 15 minutes for a monster but pick up things on the road.

Sporepuff Expert, Hunger Resistance, Bleed Resistance, Muck Resistance, Blindsider, Dungmaster and Jump Master are the useless ones.

Anything that has anything to do with a defensive skill, wheather its a resistance to a status, state, element, evasion, or damage mitigation. All useless and just to be used as a crutch for bad dodgers.

geologist isn't useless. wtf? it's super useful if you want to build certain weapons, and certainly VERY useful for completing bounties that involve mining or bone gathering.
