Or , try to put the monster between you and a group of Gajalaka and hope the Gajalaka will target the monster instead of you .
1. Reach HR.
2. Reqch Elders Recess.
3. Finish the Lynian research chain. ie befriend all the Grimlaykin tribes then the Grajalaka.
4A. In some missions you will see a paw print on the mini map. Often the is a Grimlaykin but some times it's a Grajalaka. Fight the monster under it.
4B. Once you e finished the chain some of the roaming packs wont attack you but will attack monsters you fight near them.
If you do befriend them you can get a cat to come with you.
1) There's a quest to kinda befriend them(mainly to unlock mewlotov gadget);
2) You don't actually need to complete the quest for them to be helpful for your hunt.
Quest is unlocked and given by Lynian Researcher once you unlock Elder's Recess and befriended all other tribes(Bugtrappers, Protectors, Troupers, and Plunderers) from their respective locations. You need to find and talk to him when he has something to say to you.
Quests are simple so i'll skip them.
After you've done you now can recruit Gajalaka as tailraider, BUT not just any of them!
Be mindful that most Gajalaka you encounter will still attack you in close proximity!
You can distinguish friendly Gajalaka by the green dot above their heads(the one that marks friendly NPCs) - these ones you can recruit and they won't attack you.
For them to be useful however - you don't need to be friends with them, you simply don't need to stand between them and the monster, let them attack the monster instead - they can blow it up with mewlotovs, poison it, paralyse it, sleep it. You just do your thing meanwhile.
Once you have done all that you will get the quest line for the gajalanka's.
