Anyone know if the game is region locked? Would like the gift it to someone in another country from US

Yes, it is region locked in terms of sales. As with every other recent Capcom game.

You can see it for yourself. Purchase as a gift and upon check out(not confirming the order), you will see the red warning sign about purchase being restricted to the region you are in.

You can change the store region and vpn to philippinez with your current account anyway.The catch being there is region lock on gifting, and while buying for yourself, using your this account to buy it with a vpn, you might gets a steam ban cause its steam

Depends what steam says.Lets say you make an alt account, and gift it to your main. On checkout it will specify if it has region lock, like if you buy from russia, it can be redeemed from russian,canada, blah,blah,blah. If not specified, technically you can play it anywhere, thou if steam catches on they have every right to ban cause its a common practice

Edit: Looked it up and yes, philippines has region lock and only works for Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

If you want to save 5$ you can try canada, they don't restrict

i live in germany and bought the digital deluxe edition twice on GMG, for me and a friend in switzerland. i can gift the base game here on steam but cant gift the digital deluxe extras.

will my friend be able to redeem the code?

He should be able to get the base game, but if I recall corretly sometimes there is issues when gifting DLC to people via steam

i couldnt gift the digital deluxe version through steam but GMG will provide 2 seperate codes for me. so its technically not a gift send through steam

but i hope youre right about the game

I checked on another post and as long as you have non region locked keys there should be no issue, if there is an issue you might be able to ask GMG for a refund on one of the codes. Just to be safe you should have had who ever you were getting the key from check if GMG would let them buy a key, if GMG said that the key will not work in their region than they are out of luck.

I checked with others about gifting on steam and I guess you can only gift games/single items, so I guess that means things like DLC can't be gifted then? I've had something similar happen before where it told me that I could not gift a deluxe edition to a friend because of the way that Steam treats DLC I guess

The game has a region lock for wherever you buy it apparently. My friend got screwed as he bought it in HK and just moved to Japan and can no longer play it.
