From MH (PS2) to MHFU to MHW
It's been a good while since I've ventured into the true online setting. If anyone remembers playing the MH on ps2, drop a line. I didn't get to endgame (That ole Black dragon), but I was able to kill Lao. Fun fact, on the rank up mission that included Lao, my team abandoned me after someone died twice and the damage wasn't going to be enough to kill it. I stuck out the fight and with whatever bonestick I was used, I managed to repel Lao before he destroyed the base (it was down to basically toothpick health). From that, I farmed hornetaurs for a couple of weeks to get the Hornet+ set including the Black Katana MK (back when it was a buster) and the insectors+. I felt like such a badass especially since so few people actually farmed the bugs for anything other than fluids b/c they were a horrible grind. Before I ended leaving the game (as in... the game went offline) I managed to find 2 others that had a full Hornet set. The last thing I remember fighting was Grav.

I've loved the series even though I didn't do the Nintendo versions, I've kept an eye out on it. I look forward joining you all online. I'm not sure what my name will be, but I'm most likely going to continue as a Hammer and GS main. I used everything, but nothing is quite as fun as being point person bashing the head.

If you see someone in Hornet, wielding the old school weapons, and swearing that I don't drink while wildly swinging my beer mug around like it's a fly swatter, that's definitely me. I was quite surprised who much my old knowledge held up today (including plate run ettitique).

I used to play MH online on PS2 as well, good times. My second game was also MHFU (on PSP), which is still my favorite game in the series. MHW is a great game as well, but I feel it's lacking in some of the aspects that I loved about the old games.

I got in to the series on the PSP.
But it whas obvious the game whas designed for COOP on the PSP but becouse it had no internet play and most people in my country who also had a PSP didnt play it i kinda had to give up on it becouse plyng solo in first monhun game whas tedious.
I later playd the WII version of 3 but i didnt have wierless intetnet so i never got to expiriance the online and when i finaly did play ti the servers whare closing in a month so i didnt want to invest time.
I realy got in to the series on the 3ds whit Generations and playd it a ton.
Then i got 4Ultimate and im glad 4 Ultimate still had a ton of players depite genration being active.
I managed to hunt each posible msotner in those games several times so i think i expirianced those games fully.

Which game specifically? The older games had separate quests for solo and multiplayer (gathering hall), so at least the solo quests weren't designed for co-op. In MHFU I did almost every single gathering hall quest solo though, so it's definitely possible, even if it's designed for co-op. If you had a PS3 you could use that to play the PSP titles online using "Adhoc Party", which is what I did.

You could play onlive with a psp if you have a ps3 and the online platform... I forgot what it was called. I did that with my friend for a while before we realized that many people were just looking for people to carry them.
