How does the loot and sharing works?
Does it has some kind of auto-loot system?

Can someone appear out of the blue and steal my hunt? (and drops)??

This will be my first Monster Hunter game, So i dont know what to expect at all

No. Occasionally little white 'gems' will pop off the monster that you can pick up, but you need to manually do so. These material balls are dropped for each individual player in their session, so there's no loot theft or anything. If you pick it up, it'll still be available to other players in their sessions. You will also need to carve the monster after you kill it and any large pieces you break off (the crown, the tail) in order to get loot.

Firm no. Loot theft simply isn't possible in this game. People can and will randomly join your hunts if you have it posted publicly, but they can't steal any materials from you by grabbing the loot first. They just grab it on their screen, and it's still available for you on yours. Make sense?

The only thing that's shared at the end of the hunt is the cash reward, which is split among the players in the hunt. Keep in mind that 'dying' (or carting, as it's known since you get hauled away on a cart) will cause your cash reward to decrease regardless of who carts.

You get monster parts (loot) from carving the monster and on the rewards screen at the end of a hunt.

You can send an SOS signal (optional) in the middle of a hunt if you're struggling or just cause to have people join. This doesn't affect your rewards, but if they join 10 mins after you started they get no rewards at the end, just carves.

Everyone gets a set number of carves so no, they can't "steal" your hunt or parts.

You cannot share rare materials between players, only very common items like potions.

edit: if you have the time, watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQmqyIEXQH4&t=1s

might clear some doubts

Thanks, both answers helped a lot

EDIT: Curious and worried about this "Carting" thing, Will look into it.

Long time Monster Hunter here (2000+ hours across multiple entries)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shiny Drops = These are drops that appear when you perform a certain action during a quest. These actions include but are not limited to:

Staggering a Monster
Flashing a Monster
Trapping a Monster
Breaking a Part
Cutting a Part

Carves = These are items that you can carve off of a monster or broken/severed monster parts. Depending on the monster, you can carve from them in a knocked down state (e.g. you can carve a Kelbi after stunning it or you can mine the back of a Radobaan after knocking it on it's side)

Gathering Points = There are myriad spots around the map where you can gather plant life, stones, ores, monster parts and other materials used in the creation and upgrading of your equipment.

Rewards = These are items that you obtain after completing a quest. The amount of rewards and the quality of those rewards depend on a few factors:

Quest Rank
Hunter Rank
Type of Quest
Capture or Kill
Single or Multi-Monster
Whether or not you carted (Cart is Monster Hunter slang for getting killed)
Completion Time
And More

Monster Hunter World, more than any previous game, seems to have way more conditions that effect quest rewards. Ultimately, you cannot steal other people's loot and other people cannot steal your loot. There is a "Mission Complete" timer that starts once the quest is completed and you have that amount of time to collect whatever you can before you're sent back to Camp or Astera.

You can also trade consumable and crafting items with other players up to rarity 4.

you cart when your hp hits 0

Both in solo and in 4 player coop you can only cart 3 times before you fail the quest. Carts are shared between everyone in the hunt.

Exactly this. However, there are "Food" and "Armor" skills that you can use to extend this.

Felyne Moxie (Food) and Guts (Armor) are skills that would allow you to survive a fatal blow and get back up with a single hit point.

Felyne Insurance (Food) is a skill that allows you to cart one extra time before suffering "Quest Failed"

There are myriad armor, decoration, talisman and food skills to experiment with. They range from boosting your attack power, enhancing your recovery abilities and increasing your defenses to unique skills like allowing unsheath attacks to have a greater chance to have a critical effect. There is tons to mix and match!

Can we still capture monsters like in the old games? I'm pretty sure capturing them gave us a more loot and/or better rare loot chances froma capture

Carting is dying / fainting during a hunt. On a standard hunt, the team has 3 lives and the quest will fail when the team cart the 3rd time. Also, everytime someone cart, the money reward is reduced by 1/3.

Edit: that was some quick carting explanations. Lol

You can capture, but capturing no longer give you more rewards than kills unless you use specific armor or set bonus skills. IIRC, the Legiana and Kirin armor set bonuses are what you want to have to maximize Capture rewards (think Luck builds from prior games)

As for carving vs capturing, it mostly comes down to what reward you are hoping for as they have different loot tables or %s.

While true of past games, there is either no, or virtually no difference between Carve/Cap rewards in Monster Hunter World. The only benefit to capturing in Monster Hunter World is faster quest completion times. The way to get better rewards in World is to perform a 3 to 5 Gold Reward investigation (preferably Great Hunts with multiple monsters) and break/cut the part you're looking for as a reward, then complete the quest however you're asked to complete it.

Oh, I thought it was something like a troll player somehow places a cart underneath you and pushes you over a cliff or something to screw you with the money reward xD

Carting is jsut a nice word for Death.
You have 3 Lifes per hunt shared among the players.
And death sends you to the hunt camp and removes any buffs you had from food so you have to run all the way over to the mosnter and no logner have food buffs (Food bufs last entire gunt if you dotn die)
So of the 4 players only if 3 faint the hunt is over and you only get anything you harvested during the hunt.
So as logn as you dotn care about money anyone on your team even the same person may die 2 times and it wont afect the non money loot.

Based on the published reward percents published by Capcom, this is incorrect. Each item has its own drop-table, and while most are similar, there are some rare parts that are easier to get from carving vs. capture, and vice versa.

I've put over 400 hours into the PS4 version and the most consistent way to get what you want is through 3-5 Gold Reward Great Hunt (3 to 5 monster) Investigations (use a voucher), Cap or Carve. In fact, an even more efficient way to get what you want is to break or carve the part you need and just leave the quest. It's how I managed to roll in Black Spiral Horn + and Wyvern Gems and make virtually all of the high rank Diablos gear in a couple of hours. You can talk about loot tables all day, but these are the most efficient ways to get what you need, tables be damned.
