Err... "Iceborne" DLC costs more than the entire game?!

Why is this add-on so overpriced?... Do they actually want people to play it?... Or, do they not even care -- given how many millions bought this game, and being the "FOMO" afflicted sheep humans are, more than enough will be compelled to by it, irrespective of price point...? 🤔

The price I have here is 74.99$ CAD for the base game (not counting discount) and 64.99$ CAD for the deluxe DLC. The dlc is cheaper than the base game.

I don't know where you live, OP, but in the USA, the price of this full-sized expansion pack, Iceborne, is $39.99, which is roughly only 2/3 of the original retail price of the base game, $59.99. In fact, since the price has never been decreased except for sales, that is still the price, minus the sale consideration.

I hope you're not just here to complain about the game being on sale. But it's not clear what your actual complaint is, given the clearly untrue premise.

How so?... It has a northern winter themed map, some grappling mechanic (which apparently screws up the gameplay somewhat), and some gear. That doesn't seem like "or even more" content than the base game.

What's so "yuuuuulge" about it? A map; a grappling mechanic; a few armours (most of which will certainly look naff, if the main game is anything to go by); an upgrade tier or deux for weapons (...?)

How about the HR levelling -- have they given that any meaning beyond being an equipment use plateau? Or, what about seeing other players in one's hub, outside of the "Gathering" area (instead of just those boring NPC's)? The price point would be more justifiable if the content weren't just an obligatory snow map + trinkets... 💡

2 new maps, Master rank, More story, New monsters and Subspecies (old monsters also get new attacks), Level 4 decos, New end game upgrade system, Transmog, Charm can upgrade more, Clutch claw, New movesets, Slots for mantle, Gathering in Seliana has everything you need now (Argosy, Botanist, Smithy, Bounty, Item Etc.) You can decoration your own house and invite people to come in.

There is more updates coming. not sure if I miss something. This is all I can remember.

Beyond Rajang, we can confirm at least 1 more new monster (coming in December for consoles)
