2. Both, depending on the situation and the monster.
3. Never used them.
(You Can Change the Item Crafting Menu From Radial to Using Keyboard Shortcut (F1 - F4) and Number 1 - 8)
(Dont Forget to Save Your Loadout and Keyboard Menu to Item loadout)
for the item wheel, dont bring all ammo type) (Mostly For LBG is Slicing, Normal 2, and Elemental Ammo Type)
2. For The Wyvernblast You Can Place it anywhere, if monster stomp on it they will explode, or you can trigger the explode with ammo or Bowgun Melee (Ctrl + Right Click)
3. Just Use Normal Wide Ranged Build, You Dont Need Bring Armor / Demon Ammo
but Sleep and Paralysis ammo you Should Bring It
Edit: I bind 1-8 for crafting, mainly ammo, flashpod and bombs. You can craft during reloads, this is especially useful for long reloads where you can't move, slicing and sticky comes to mind.
2. Some notes on using the mines:
-They're a great addition to sleep bombing, place them with the bombs for extra damage.
-You can use them defensively, for example place them around when fighting Lavasioth and it can flinch him out of his land swims. With monsters like Barroth that does nicely telegraphed attacks on your spot, place them down and stand around it, then hop back to get out of range as they attack your spot and they'll trigger it and you can keep shooting immediately.
3. With how hectic some fights go, recovery ammo is hard to use. Behemoth with tank might be the only good use for it. Buffing ones are fine. Your main focus should be CC as support, and wide-range for heals. Some monsters have annoying hardening coverings for melee (Lavasioth, Radobaan, etc.) so you could prioritize getting rid of those so melee can attack more freely. Also, some monsters have breaks that are hard to hit for melee, as a ranged you can focus on those spots instead.
otherwise good advice from the other three posts.
