SKIN MODS
Hello I'm fairly new to the game. I just wanted to apply some custom skins on my character. But some people are saying mods might get you banned. Should I go for the skin mods?

Nobody says mods might get you banned. Because they don't.

So if I use a skin mod will other people be able to see my skin?

No, no one will be able to see it but you. And I don't see the fuss with just visual mods like Nepigante, Camelia Skin, etc. I haven't seen anyone get banned for it, nor do I personally as a hunter mind if someone's using transmog. I make a fuss when someone's blatantly invincible or one shotting, etc.

Depends on the mod. I've seen some mods that mention that others see it as well, and some mods that say that only you see it. You'll just have to read the mod description and find out.

And regardless, nobody has been banned for anything, even "cheat" mods.

The only way you can make them see it is to ask them to install the same mod. So feel free to use it. Others won't be able to see it. However, I'm not sure what happens if you replace armors with existing armors in the game. I remember one mod that can make others see the skin because they are using armors that already exist in the base game to replace other armors. But if you are using the self made mods such as 2B skin, no one will see it unless they have the same mod as you. This also applies to any other visual mod including palico gear and attack effect.

I think only the mods that replace armor with other existing armor in the base game can be seen by other people.

Mods are client sided, so no, people cant see your skin mod, like actually I have Lucina mod who remplace Ciri skin, people see me as Ciri so I see myself as Lucina.

So basically you are naked in other people eye if you use mods. You can get skin easily by completing some hunt, don't need to go for mods.

No they will see whatever you wear according to the items ID in their game
Thing about the current layered armor is it too few it's not cover every armor or people just want different look (2B mod for example) so mod is what will give you what you want without relying on devs with requests, hope and pray

Because by mixing difference piece of armor from different monsters, it look very weird. The mods only make the players think he look good, but in other players eye is still that same ugly setup.

Thus a true layered armor help. We can easily get some layered armor in the game, iceborne has more coming.

Yes that's the point of modding, it's for people who want to do so only, what other player see you on their end doesn't matter

The only visual mods someone else can see is Layered Armor Sets.

Wrong the layered armor mods show the player what the user sees aswell cause they utilize a feature that's inside the game already but isn't enabled for everyone.
How do i know? Cause i'm right that's why and i've seen plenty of people using layered sets that aren't in the game.
Only mods that add armors from outside the game don't show up to other players or that use entirely new models.
