using cannons would require learning how kulve paths around the first area and considering that half the playerbase doesn't have the iq points required to use weapons other than the longsword and the bow it comes as no surprise

there's also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of materials laying around to make free bombs but nobody seems to have noticed that either...

the cannons are nice to have setup for her run to Room 2, if people are fast enough on the bugs they can zip to the cannon positions and blast her with all of em.

if i can get a coordinated group, typically i go and have everyone load cannons.

then we LBG and bomb her into phase 2, once we think she is moving soon 3 of us zip to the cannons as fast as possible nearby, while 4th guy continues to push her into phase 2 rage, once he does he zips to the cannon at the end of the line. which we point so he'll get all the hits.

adds some challenge plus gets everyone moving to the next room as they fire cannons and continue to zip to room 2. and with enough hits some of the parts in room 2 just plop right off in a few shots.

The only time an LBG can even get close is when she's molten, even then it's just a waste of resources for later. If everyone loaded the cannon, the DPS becomes insane, and usually qualifies for pushing her to stage 2 quickly.

Bombs are good on a flinch too, but both is probably best. raw damage is just so high on ATKT now.
Really it just comes down to pattern memorization, as the cannons are stationary objects with clearly defined locations to aim. Learning that means always having a 2500+ hornbreaker ready.

cannons are a fun alternative method of doing damage but they are not required or even recommended in many situations. this keeps it on the bottom of the priority list of methods of causing damage.

there are better alternatives for people that are actually trying to do pursuit 1 so your time investment goes to those and attacking her arms and tail for part breaks. (bomb spam and boulders) youtube and some thinking is your friend here for understanding why.

For the but sniff sneaky stab attack on the second round group, breathing deep the musk wafting from atkt causes her to be so uncomfortable that just wildly flailing a wet stick at her is more than enough to get the job done so its all optional at this point with the above damage sources still being a better time investment combined with bowguns getting part breaks on the side.

yeah too bad the whole point here is to aim and break parts and cannons aren't really good at aiming at any part except the head, potentialy cannons could leat to missing the fury state so i'll stick to lbg

At least in older kulve runs - even if you help load it up and let the guy with the iq/setup for cannon damage fire them, you can net a good bit more, and speed up things for a few seconds with them just setting the cannons.

I always load the last 2 cannons (right before she goes into area 2 and when she comes toward you and turns right). If you're fast enough they need only 1 player.

it is easy to chip a bit of her chest with it. Hitting the arm and front tail isn't too hard either with a well timed aim. It just takes knowing the cannons. Even then, the only time after that attacking is most viable is when she was bouldered.
