Is it possible to duplicate save files?
Title question, is it even possible to do this because i would like to create a female version of my first save without having to start over my progress.

You can and should make a backup of your save if that's what you mean. If your save becomes corrupted it's good to have a backup just in case. The default save directory is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[numbers]\[numbers]\remote

The [numbers] may be different, but you'll know the file name by SAVEDATA1000.

To add to what Tregrenos said, the app ID for Monster Hunter: World is 582010, so the path should be something like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[numbers]\582010\remote"

... where [numbers] is an ID tied to your Steam account. If you're the only person using Steam on that machine, there should only be one number.

Copy and pasting should be fine, as long as the duplicate is still called "SAVEDATA1000".

Copy and paste it somewhere else, I guess. Perhaps on your desktop.
