True. But there were Berserk games, the Dreamcast and PS2 were really decent, especially how it handled the Dragonslayer, reminds me heavily of MONHUN. However those are over decades old now. The recent one is a mess. Shame the recent anime made them even worse, sigh.
We might get Dogma 2 however, now that Capcom is on a roll and Itsuno has proven himself with DMCV.
Goblin slayer has too much realism in place when it comes to the rules set in it's DnD typed world to work well with monster hunter.
Berserk or dark souls (I know that's a huge stretch.......) would work pretty well as they are more or less within reason but neither meet what I would consider the proper conditions to be in monster hunter.
I would most likely prefer a cross over with a different monster hunter better to be honest.
Maybe even something within the realm of marvel?.....maybe not.
Although as far as i'm concerned they should be standalone only no need to make brand new monsters based around them.
If you really wanted a goblin slayer quest it could just be a Gajalaka type extra mission.
Non of the old Anime costumes had new monsters made just for the qest that may or may not be themed around the costume.
Kinda how the mario costumes had you gathering mashrooms or figting the masroom Ape.
Chapter1 would you have you believe it's some dark, edgy story with a lot of story threads about gray areas with goblins maybe not being all evil, maybe the guild is secretly evil, maybe...
Yeah, forget all that, nevermind. All goblins are jerks. Guild is cool. The porn and violence tones down immediately too, we don't have to do that after a few chapters. It just turns into extremely generic adventure in extremely generic fantasy DnD world. The initial cast of rookies might as well have been the main cast, since the actual main cast are just as much cardboard characters with no personality as they were.
If GS was just another SAO or whatever from the get-go, fine. I would ignore it and not care. But blatantly trying to trick viewers in it's pilot is pathetic.
Which is a shame because it'll never happen
