Comparing this to old MH Titles (I played MHFU in 2009 And MHP3rd in 2017)
I love this game keep that in mind these are some of my tougths on it, this is suposed to be an interesting way of seeing others opinion and expressing yours as well in the coments, lets discuss. None of this is fact and is indeed a personal opinion.

So im a big MH Fan, and i find that this game is a lil desapointing, its still really good even better than the old game gameplay wise,so lets start on what i found a bit weak and some mechanics i wish they didnt removed from Freedom Unite and p3rd since those are the only games in the fracshise ive spent hours in.

- They removed the Skills from Felynes, the cats could be usefull with the Flute because they buffed you, hyperdrive was fun, Fall7x get up 8x and shocktrap were very usefull as well they removed the skills option completly making the cats significantly less fun and interesting.

- They removed the cat hiring and having two cats helping another removed mechanic that was fun and made the game better.
They also removed the dialogue and instead just make the cat say something and go to his basic menu.

- They removed cat training in p3rd and fu u could train your cat to be better with atttack or defense or both.

- They removed chef cats i never liked having to go to the cat restaurant.

- The story is just there.

- The areas are way too big.

- The village area is way too filled they didnt need to put floors just put everything in the same place like older titles its unecessary to have so many areas in hub.

I mean i still like this game even tho i spent 40 euros that i have been saving and yes my wallet cries and my pc cant run this game at 60 fps but hey, i still like it its a fun adition to the mh formula i havent talked about the positives cuz this is a negative based descussion.

I only agree if you mean Astera. The actual combat zones are fantastic.

So you essentially miss old palico mechanics is what I'm getting. I'd argue our palico's are far more useful to use in this game then in previous ones. The only thing they don't do is attack as often, but that doesn't really matter at all.

If we could take 2 MHW palico's with us, each with different gadgets, it would be kind of silly how easily you could stunlock a monster while buffing yourself significantly.

Tri had swimming so not really straight upgrade.

I dunno, I'd call getting rid of that garbage swimming mechanic an upgrade.

yes i miss these mechanics not saying these lil guys are bad just that the fact u dont level them up like u did makes the less interesting imo cuz yes they dont die as often and are good with the vigorflie or whatever

No, there's a disgusting breed of Freedom unite players that ALWAYS bring up that they played Freedom Unite before sharing their opinion on ANYTHING Monster Hunter related, it could be something like "I'd like to dye my armor either red or blue, what color should it be?" and one of these people will comment "Well back in Freedom Unite when I had this armor"; they're like Vegans or people that deadlift, they for some reason HAVE to mention it

i played freedom unite, but it was after Tri came out on the wii i then looked into other games under the same banner and found unite. it was literally the only reason i owned a PSP. it was a lot longer of a game but i did miss the gun mix n match system tri brought with it.

then 3u, then 4u, then gen and genU and here we are at world, i've completed all story content of each game. 3u despite the swim mechanics, was by far the easiest out of all of em. each title though had a place to showcase possibility and add to the journey in some way though. so really, people who say, i played MHFU but thats all they played, their opinion is incomplete.

it was a neat system but it was also limiting for the weapon type at the same time. i think something similar could be brought back but not 3 parts, more like two parts mix n match. that or more customizations for bowguns in general like extended mags. would be nice to stack on top of the ammo up skill for just massive capacity.

Not gonna lie, the swimming mechanic made me quit playing MH3U on the 3DS.

I don't miss it in World even with proper camera control.
