how to get rathalos rubies?

Ive been running rathalos investigations with gold rewards for the past 4 days and i haven't got a single one... Is there something im doing wrong?

Sometimes you just have a really bad stream of luck.

Have you also been cutting and carving the tail to improve your chances?

If you've been running him for days you've probably got his moveset memorized pretty well. You could shoot for a gear set with the Good Luck/Great Luck bonus or Kirin Capture Master set bonus to help your chances.

Other than that you can also just straight up meld a rathalos ruby with a Golden Wyverian Ticket if you have the Melder unlocked.

Yeah, just bad RNG then, Apparently the event quest "Kings Know No Fear" has a higher chance to drop rarer parts (like rubies) however you also have to face an Azure Rathalos (who does also have a chance for rubies) which is a pretty significant step up over the regular Rathalos.

Completing all the limited weekly bounties awards you with a golden wyverian ticket. Unfortunately since the Spring Event is currently running weeklies are disabled and we have Daily Limited Missions instead.

Break every part first (wings, head, back, tail) then capture it instead of killing. Sometimes you have to get it the old fashioned way because the gold reward boxes don't give you any.

Capturing is definitely better imo, personally i've got almost every ruby from capturing vs carving.

1. find a HR investigation with as many silver/gold boxes as you can
2. equip 3p Kirin (any of them) for the set bonus
3. give your palico Plunderblade
4. break the monster's head
5. cut his tail and carve it
6. capture him

This is how you maximize gem farming for any monster that gives them.

He is right, you can get alot of gems this way.

Minus the Elders cause you cant capture an elder...
