Monster Hunter: World

Vezi statistici:
Should i grind endgame gear after i beat the story or jump straight to iceborne?
So im close to beating the story (HR14) and was just wondering if grinding for high rank armor would be worth it for iceborne when it launches or will all of the end game high rank armor would be useless?

basically, should i beat the story and then wait for iceborne or should i beat it and grind end-game armor and weapons and use them in iceborne?

Armor is probably not going to be worth much. It isn't totally worthless, as it'll be okay early Master Rank and maybe beyond depending on player skill. Crafting weapons isn't a bad idea since most of them are getting Master Rank upgrades, and maybe some light decoration farming wouldn't be a bad idea.
you could jump straight to IB, having some of the end game high rank gear wont go too far into G rank, some of the weapons may make the earlier bits of master rank a bit easier to farm till your all upgraded and into your first master rank armor set.

but as far as augmenting and jacking up a set of high rank armor to absolute max there are better things you could do, like getting decos and limited time events done for layered sets and palico gear.

Gotcha, so i should focus more on my weapons and ignore armor since i don't want to waste time on a high rank build just to have it be useless in early Iceborne

Kind of a shame for new players like myself, i wanted to go deep into high rank but i don't want to waste time on a build that would be one shotted easily come iceborne, but i guess jumping into master rank would make fighting that behemoth that everybody is talking about way easier

You won't get one shotted easily in iceborne. Upgraded high rank armor can probably take you all the way to the end even.

Not really wasting time, HR has so much content.

The story campaign is only 30% of the game.

You are missing out on the full experience if u just jump into iceborne.
I grinded out Nergigante Armor and a few weapons before tackling the next 3 Elders..
But really it is all up to you. if you need company farming/grinding, add me.
I am HR65 and Dont have much else to do right now, besides the events which Im waiting for something on :P

Just do all the HR content available, don't bother farming weapons or armor. You'll get better alternatives almost immediately into Iceborne. Just get a single fully upgraded weapon and a decent armor, so the transition into MR is not painful.

There are some things worth farming and getting though. Decorations are still just as valuable, the new tier doesn't replace the old ones at all, so having a good selection of them will help you avoid farming in the future. Getting layered armor is also a good idea, especially now that they are bringing back most events you'll have the opportunity to get most if not all of them. You can also get some good charms, most of them receive and extra level or two of upgrades.

You need to at least reach HR 50.

To do that you are going to need to create at least 1 maybe 2 proper mixed sets for your prefered weapon.

Then and only then are you at a point where you can make a proper set.

---------

Honestly go make a mid tier LR set. Then come back and fight the Elder Dragons. That is going to give you an idea what its like to move into IB with your current gear.

You are going to want a set that you are comforabel fighting Tier 3 Tempered Monsters ie the Tempered Elder Dragons.

---------

Also you are only now reaching the end of the Tutorial you have so so much content to experience just on your way to HR50

depends on how familiar you are with the monsters. a decent player can get all the way to tempered monsters with behemoth gear without too much trouble. (especially with multiple story hunts starting out as expeditions letting you abuse fortify).

it might be worth getting some high rank gear with the set bonus you like and leave defense to the extra slots you have being mr armor. teostra / behemoth for master's touch. xeno for spare shot. star / rath for crit element. ect. then just swap them out for the mr equivalent.

also considering how long we still have until iceborne it would be worth getting a head start collecting decos. miasma resistance, fortify, ect. the easier to get things that help you get around gimmicks like vals miasma without having to swap armor pieces.

or simply return to at monster events in iceborne gear for easy mode
HR armor with upgrade removal can sustain MR 1-3 which isn't much but before jumping into iceborne i do recommend you do these if you haven't already

-befriend with gajalaka via the witcher dlc quest line

-buy and upgrades charms that you use often since those will have even more upgrades in future

-maxed out all your palico proficiency (healing, buff, plunderblade) max level right now is 20 but you'll be able to upgrades more in iceborne

-unlocks all your plant farm and all ingredients

-grind for armor sphere since you'll be use a lot of them in iceborne

-grind for jewels

-unlock weapon augmentation by fighting tempered monster tier 2/3 and grind for streamstone

U mean no need to grind for armor, weapons are a different case cuz it will be better if u just grind a few to help with the upgrades in MHWIB

It does help, but it's a pretty big time commitment for relatively low gain. You can still craft all of them in the expansion, many of them don't even need their previous versions since you get to craft the MR version straight away. And for those that need an HR base to upgrade to HR, you can still farm those easier with MR gear. So yes, you could do that, but you could also wait and do it later when it's going to be easier and faster.
