So, what's best for you is much dependent on what you want to achieve and what decorations you have access to AND what monster you are fighting against.

Taroth "Fire" and Kjarr "decay" are the current strongest for general use depending on match up. Reaver Calamity is slightly worse, but fire and decay require you to consistently maintain peak performance. If you can't maintain peak performance then Reaver will be better.

Kjarr "fire" is best against kirin and vaal.

I didn't fight KT once. Is there an alternative and when is he coming back? What about Divine Slasher?

Divine Slasher is best non-element LS. It's also shown in link, just have to scroll down quite lots.

Best accessible elementless LS sure but taroth fire is better as you maintain white sharpness easier without needing handicraft and has higher damage if you can maintain peak performance.

You can try the empress sword ruin or styx as well cause they have decent attack and white sharpness.

Assuming you can farm lunastra they're easier to get than DS with about the same performance.

DJ Ls are pretty good... Though it only probs need decent num of handicraft boost (4 or 5) either from jewels or gears and the helm breaker damage are pretty inconsistent. But for most of the hunts so far even with the disadvantages i prefe DJ Ls.

Handicraft 3 is enough, it's still better than Divine Slasher because it has thrice the white sharpness.

So I got my Drachen Armor today and Divine Slasher. Is the DJ better or DS?

jho will pass ds on hzv dragon weakness monsters, but its dps output is unstable, somtimes hit high, sometimes hit low.

ds gives a steady performance vs all targets.

just gotta decide which one you like more. i like the angry green spiky longsword, but thats just aesthetics.

jho's ls have higher raw but negative affinity and dragon element. So it's better going kjaar decay for your dragon element needs., unless you don't have one.

If you have elementless gem and don't put any free element skill, DS can meet up the damage and ends up better.

I currently use empress ruin for the life steal allowing a non-stop flurry.

all KT weapons look like ♥♥♥♥ to me. basic model shouldnt be ENDGAME weapons. pure dev lazyness.

as for tc : dont bother with farming lootbox cancer taroth at this point in time youre better off with ds and jho one. styx is nice for some extra utility slots if needed but pales dmg wise.

iceborne will make all kt weapons useless due to better stuff comeing out. so dealing with unhuman jp lootbox rng just for a TINY amount of dmg increase (and only with peak mind you) and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ models simply isnt worth it. fokus on getting decos instead of that.

i built a full set of critele builds for the kjarr longswords just for the look. the platinum gold sheathes with ammolite inlay is just majestic.
