heres a link to starter builds you can use while building your way towards end game stuff.
starter builds taken from mathalos nest

endgame meta builds here taken from reddit
https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterWorld/comments/blbmjc/pcconsole_the_ultimate_meta_build_compilation/
alternatively you can do the witcher 3 special assignment for the geralt armor set, its actually pretty decent for a starting armor.
decimation claws are pretty good when the game was still fresh. but power creep happened and the next best craftable non event dualblade for you is the deviljho one. all the endgame dualblades come from kulve taroth which will appear again at the end of this month and during the next seasonal event. good luck.
It can easily reach 30% affinity with modification, and 80% on attacks against weak spots with weakness exploit.

Decimation Claws (1 Expert deco, Health Augment)
Rath Soul Helm B (2 Expert decos)
Rathalos Mail B (1 Dragon deco)
Beetle Brachia B (1 Attack deco)
Odogaron Caoil B (1 Tenderizer deco)
Azure Starlord Guards A (1 Critical deco)
Marathon Charm 2
This will give you Critical Element, Critical Eye 7, Critical Boost 3, Weakness Exploit 3, Dragon Attack 2 and Marathon Runner 2.
The hardest part would be the decos, especially the 3 Expert jewels and the Critical Jewel as those seem to be very rare...
I'd also highly recommend you carry Dash Juice and Well-Done steak on your missions!
If you like the look of Decimation Claws, then be the kitty kat you are and claw munsters
with your claws.
As much as speed runners loathe it, fashion is part of the game. And fashion can be efficient.
As for recommendations, well, Decimation Claws do have some advantages over Wrathful Perdition:
1) You don't have to worry a lot about building handicrafting or sharpness. It's got a full, long blue bar. Less skills required for investment, especially with 0% affinity.
2) It's only 12 less damage from Wrathful Perdition, can be made up for with Peak Performance.
3) It comes with a decoration slot.
4) You're a newer player, so unlike people playing the game for months, you don't have a lot of Streamstones to augment things. Fully augmenting a rare 7 weapon, like Wrathful Perdition, takes 4 warrior stones. Decimation Claws takes 1 hero stone.
With that in mind, and since you're still new, I recommend a simple, easy-to-get starter setup for Decimation Claws that has minimum decoration requirements:
*Dragonking A head
*Nergigante A or B chest
*Nergigante B gloves
*Nergigante B coil
*Dober A boots
*Attack Charm
This setup can leave you open for trying different weapons and experimenting with decorations.
I recommend slotting in 1 Tenderizer jewel when you can, and either a couple Dragon jewels to increase the dragon element damage, or Vitality jewels to increase your health.
Note:
- Vitality with the Hasten Recovery set bonus will help you stay alive when learning fights
- Stamina Surge reduces down time from demon mode, more slashy-slashy
- With this setup, you have 7/7 attack boost, so you hit like a truck
- A Slider decoration is a good option, especially if you master the Spine Ripper combo
