What's the fastest way to unlock more Tempered Vaal and Tempered Kirin investigations?

I beat the Tempered Kirin quest to unlock HR 50, but I haven't been able to get more Tempered Elders to show up in my Investigations list.

Will they show up if I keep slaying regular Tempered monsters, or do I need to specifically search for Tempered Elder tracks during expeditions?

Best way is to gather tempered tracks during tempered fights.
Like, don't attack the dragons for first 10 mins and just follow them and gather tracks.

Are they zone specific?
As in, will collecting blue Lumu tracks in the Coral Highlands have better odds of revealing a Tempered Kirin investigation?.

Don't think you can get T3 off Lumu tracks since he's T1 or T2.

Best method to farm T3 investis is to find a Tempered Nergigant with 50mins, wait 40mins, put on Ghillie mantle, collect all the tracks in his room since he walks back and forth in a very small area.

I'm pretty sure zone has nothing to do with it? But sadly you can also get normie investigations instead of tempered, so prepare to delete billion regular Elder investis.

I mean, if you want to save yourself the trouble, you could always just hit up a tempered Kirin or Vaal SOS and get tracks and investigations from there. Tempered Kirin is a little more rare, but Vaal is fairly common. Or at least it was back then.

I'll lend you 60 runs of Tempered Lunastra if you want it (only half kidding, I have 1 investigation for tempered Kirin, total, in almost 300 hours of playtime, but have about 20 for lunastra)

I honestly don't think there is a reliable way. It seems the tempered are just rare and even when you track a tempered it tends not to give you the same monster. This is especially true for Kirin.

I tried out tracking an Arch Tempered Kirin and got a Tempered Kushala investigation after a few minutes of collecting tracks :3

Two methods. The first and easiest is the event quest "Tracking the Delivery" if it's available, you'll find about 30 tracks across the Elders Recess in areas the Elder Dragons are fought in. You can obtain up to 5 Investigations from the quest each run if you're lucky, all random Tempered Elder Dragons, although you're looking at about 3 on average. Wear the Assassins Creed mantle for movement speed, and follow a specific route, you can finish it up in about 5 minutes per trip.

The second method is joining or creating your own Tempered Investigations with Elder Dragons as the target, and just burning them collecting tracks. Kushala Daora is terrible for this, but Nergigante and Teostra are pretty great - just wait for 30 minutes until lots of tracks have been made, or simply follow the Elder Dragon collecting any tracks it leaves etc. It's a very good way to use up terrible investigations like the 2 box ones, or the ones that are like 2 players, 15 minutes, 1 faint etc if you're not robust enough to handle them.

Be careful doing this with Lunastra as she trips balls the minute she spots you, although ghillie mantle is useful too.

You can also use Arch Tempered event quests to farm Elder Dragon tracks if you don't have any regular Tempered Investigations to burn up making more, if neither of the two above options are available to you, too.

Incidentally the best way to generate HR30 / Threat Level 2 investigations, other than the quest "A Simple Task" is by doing Tempered Legiana Investigations. Immediately from leaving the camp in zone 12, there's 6-7 Legiana tracks for you to collect, which practically guarantees you'll generate 1 new HR30 investigation each time you fight her (and your investigations typically have 3-8 uses, etc)

She's perfect for farming Hero / Warrior streamstones and decorations, in my opinion.
