The witcher side quests

am i missing something? i saw that the special quest have specific side quest in it but it's always an immediate fail , the galajaka signs and the pukei pukei one, a bug? or i need to complete the quest a certain number of time to unlock them?

Pukei pukei will leave but come back on the final stage of leshen to aid you. The gajalaka one needs you to get all the other palico gadgets as a prerequisite.

no, 1 is all you need to unlock the side quest

I mean to finish it. When i did it the first time, the sidequest would fail wh en i talked to the researcher. SO that's just because I hadn't found all the palico gadgets? I was initially thinking I had to find all the doodles in the forest as geralt.

Its not just finding the doodles, you have to find the king and help/beat him

I completed it after finding just 2. Definitely don't need all of them.

that's the thing , i have unlocked all gadgets but it's an immediate fail at the end of the conversation and i don't have the choice to save the pukei pukei

What conversation, exactly? And the pukei is just sitting there, stuck in roots, which you can burn if you are so inclined in order to start that quest. It isn't a conversation choice.

I could imagine the researcher being unable to translate between you and the gajalaka if you never did the gajalaka quests, in the main game. It is only thanks to your completion of those quests that he can understand their language, canonically.

Got all gadjets, found 7 doodles, NPC said that he need more, and only Main hunter could help - mission failed. Guess quest is bugged. Maybe i have to ignore dat dialoge and just go on top of tree.

So after a further HARD retry of the quest , it seem that for the pukei pukei (the one who still breathing behind) was definitly a bug , a cutscene was needed before burning the roots but for whatever reason it was missing , after 5 ,6 relaunch it finally worked , for the Lynian NPC some says that having all the gadgets is not enough it seems that a the max level of frindship is needed with all the tribes in every locations

I thought the entire thing was terrible, including the side-quests. I am afraid if that's what we can expect in Iceborne maybe it's not for me. Maybe it's intuitive for some but I had to Google to find what on earth was going on. There is scant information in the quest itself.

I didnt get the cutscene. I found out what to do from the web. I also found out what happened later was hit and miss too.

You don't need more than 1 doodle and you don't need max friendship.

Just find one doodle in the map, talk to the Lynian Researcher (he will say you need more doodles, ignore this, it's wrong). Exhaust his yellow dialog options, after which he shouldtranslate the doodle for you and tell you to go to the top of the tree. Go there, fight the Gajalaka, do the dialog scene that follows. Go to Giant Vigorwasp in area 13, do the fight, now the quest counts as completed after you kill Leshen.

Can't speak for any possible bugs that might mess up the quest tho. I did the Pukei one multiple times and never had issues getting the cutscene to play after burning the vines.

it cant be that, i had no problem finishing it twice and my protector dudes arent maxed out yet. if you unlocked the meow molotov cocktail or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ it should trigger, if not it must be a bug.
